Jacob took out his bookbag. He puled out wire and duct tape. He duct taped Ari's hands, wrapped it with wire, and another layer of duct tape. He fashioned a makeshift pair of handcuffs. He did the same with her ankles. He alway kept stuff like this in his bag for occasions like this. "Hold. Still."

I was nowhere. Everything was black. Nothing was visible, nothing was there.
"Hello!" I screamed. "Where am I? Am I in the Underworld?"
"Shh. He'll hear you." A voice whispered.
"Codi?! Oh my gods, Codi! Why'd you leave me! Why'd they take you away! Codi answer me! Codi!" I screamed and sobbed at the same time.

For the first time, I felt truly alone. I reached in my boot and took out my emergency knife. I slice my arm, leaving a thin mark. But I felt nothing. There was no pain here.

In any other circumstance, I'd probably put on a smiley facade and decline Chiron's accusation that I pranked a cabin, but I was too worried to do anything except frown. "Ari...attemped suicide!" I blurted out, and then realized how strange that sounded.
