Terry looked up at the noise, annoyed that someone had disrupted his reading. He blinked and caught the pebble with his left, closing the book with his right. "Hey...!" He put the book down and tossed the pebble aside. "That would have hurt..."

"Alright, alright." Terry stood up, holding out an arm. His staff whirled in the air, shining bright golden in the sun as it spun in his hand. "Shall we get started? Ladies first."

"Right then..." Terry nodded, taking a quick step froward and swinging his staff at her head. "I'm attacking!"

I ducked under his staff and rolled forwards towards him. I came up on my knees and slashed at his stomach.

Terry smiled at her nonchalantly. "Nice dodge." He forced his staff into the ground, making it sink into the grass. Her knife hit tthe staff. He vaulted over it, using his right to push downwards on it as he did a front flip, twisting around and landing in behind Caroline. He twirled his staff casually. Then he swung it out at her back.

I blinked as Terry landed on my other side. I spun around just in time to see his staff. I quickly took a few steps back. His staff whizzed by. It grazed the front of my shirt. That was too close...
I sliced my sword at Terry's throat, and aimed a kick at his legs in case he ducked.

Terry blocked her slash with one end of the staff. His right hand was in the middle of the pole. So as she sliced forward, one end tilted back and the other end spun forward to whack at her head. He blocked her kick with his other hand. It stung slightly, but it was fine.

I yelped and ducked his staff as it came towards my head. While I was down there, I swept out a leg to try to unbalance him, followed by a slash to his legs.

Terry jumped backwards, avoiding her kick and her knife. He decided to wait for her to stand up, being polite like usual.

I got up. "You don't have to wait for me, Terry." My voice was filled with amusement. "Real enemies wouldn't do that in a fight." As I spoke, I suddenly jumped forward and slashed at Terry's chest.

"Well this isn't a real fight..." Terry smiled and blocked her attack with his staff. Then he turned to the side and swung out at her side.

I sighed. My eyes clouded with sadness. "But there will be a battle. A real battle. Hundreds will die, Terry." I murmured as I sidestepped his attack. I then swung my sword out at him again, not really paying attention to the fighting. I was thinking about all the poor people who will have lost their lifes, or family...

"I know." Terry replied quietly with a small smile. "So we should enjoy the time we have now, right? And in real battles, you focus." Terry knocked away her attacks and stabbed at one of her lower leg nerves with his staff.
