Gail was painting a simple picture of a tree. It was no Van Gogh, but Gail was proud of the tree she had painted. She had painted the tree that had been in her back yard. She had always loved the tree, she named it Amelia, after Amelia Earheart, "Because they are both in the sky." She and her half-sister, Sundance, had always loved to play on that tree. A lot of memories were in that tree; the Fourth of July, when she was eight years old, had accidently ran into the tree. August 16th, when she was ten, her cousen had climbed all the way to the top. Her ninth birthday, when Sundance had gotten a broken arm when she fell out of Amelia. . . So many happy memories.

(Did you actually draw that?) She walked over. "Hiya. Nice tree."

(Yeah. Why? Is it bad?)
Gail turned and saw Crystal complimenting her tree. "Thanks, Crystal. I appreciate the compliment, but it's no Monet."

I leaned across the table and squinted at it. "No, that's good."

"I had a half-sister, Jewel, who liked to draw." She took out a picture. "She drew a tree. SHe into plants. I have no Idea why." "This was when she was 7 on tiny spray nozzles with spray paint." (I scribbled this in like 30 seconds, don't comment.)

Crystal shrugged. "She just liked plants. And well yeah."

"If she was a demigod, she would probably be a daughter of Demeter or Persephone."

"Yeah, probably." Crystal said, letting her mind drift off into space again. She didn't know why, but when she did this she swore she saw weird things...Crystal blinked, snapping out of it in just a few seconds.

I frowned and tilted my head. "Crystal?"

"What? Nothing. Who?" She said before she got a sense of her words.

Crystal blinked once before getting a hold on her tongue and making herself shut up. "Stop staring at me!" She snapped once she said something again.

Crystal shot back with her deluxe 'I'm-better-then-you-and-you-can-taunt-me-all-you-want-but-whatever-you-do-I'll-always-be-able-to-beat-you-up' stare. Er actually the last time she used was so long ago it her face looked haunting when she used her stare. HA! Beat that, Summer!
