I know storming into the forest weaponless isn't a good idea, but I was too distracted to care.
"No!" We were driving to the beach when our car was flipped over by some monster thing.
I'd been having the nightmare over and over again.
I was screaming, in the backseat of my mom's car when a monster was ripping it apart.
"Reach...camp...safety!"
Those were the last words I'd ever heard my mom say.
As the mosnter roared and jumped my mom, screaming, crying, and trying to wake up from what must be a nightmare, I ran.
I'd been at camp since I was 9, and always masked my personality under the joking, crazed, over-friendly girl who likes being weird. Ask anyone. They hate me randomly running into their cabins.
"Stupid camp..." I muttered, kicking a rock into a tree. The wood nymph probably wouldn't be to happy about that.
"Stupid monsters..." I shivered.
"Stupid LIFE. Why can't I be mortal?" I stomped my foot angrily, my sea-green eyes glinting angrily and dangeorusly.
I hate being a half-blood. I'd always resented the gods, in a way. The feelings were so bottled up I would've exploded. I glared at the ground.
"Face it. You're a half-blood."
I'd always resented my life after all those years...my mom DIED because I was a half-blood. Is that supposed to make me feel better?
"Keep your guard up! You'l be eaten by monsters if you don't! Just like your mom!" Feeling so bitter, I hacked and slahsed with newfound strength and within moments had my opponent on the ground.
Why did you think I got him? Reminding me that monsters killed my mom won't do you any good. From now on, everyone will see what I can be like...No one will call me crazy, insecure, overly-joking, or weird ever again...

(NOOOO I WANT OLD CRYSTAL!)
I ran into Crystal. She seemed to be angry about something. "Hey. Pull any other pranks on people lately?" I said jokingly.

(Stirring up drama? I know, I was about to do somethin' like that. And I still need to make the Claiming thread...anyone know Mania's symbol?)
I burst out of the trees, shouting insults over my shoulder in Latin.
"Eat meus pardus!" The giant chasing me roared and burst out of the trees. Literally, he ripped the things out of the ground. Sorry dryads.

Crystal: Eat my pants? I thought. Then I turned to Ally. "No." I answered in monosyllables.

I whipped around, holding my sword and swung it just as the giant ran at me, and there was a hissing noise, the sound of a monster disintegrating.

I crossed my arms and walked deeper into the forest. No, I still didn't have a weapon.

I turned around again, sheathing my sword. "Oh hi, Ally." I hesitated before saying her name, hoping I got it right.

"Hi." I turned to open my mouth and say something to Crystal, but she had disappeared. "Uh-hey-um-did you see where Crystal went?"

I walked deeper, making turns subconsiously, never stopping until she got to an open meadow, violet and rose colored flowers blooming in distinct bunches. My brain processed one thought that made sense amid other jumbled words wreathing like snakes inside my brain.
Monsters haven't destroyed this yet? Huh.
I snorted and glanced around. Sunlight streamed through large gaps in the trees above. The forest was as mysterious as always, since in all directions around the meadow beyond were the inky blackness of the forest. Half-wondering when I'd reach the end of the forest, I walked through the green meadow.

I looked behind me. "Did she even have her sword?"

I shrugged, and brushed some hair behind my ear. "I didn't see her..."

I looked up at the sound of someone coming. "Oh, hi Crystal. I just found this place a week ago. It's a good place to think about stuff. Wanna go and prank the Aphrodite cabin?" I only just noticed her expression. "Oh, hey, you okay?"

I scowled. "Fine." I muttered. I brushed past Summer without another word. The lightly colored grass was flattened by my footsteps. I didn't look back to see Summer's reaction to my coldness. I was at the edge of the meadow, about to go deeper into the dark forest.
Thoughts continued whirring through my mind at the speed of light. Snippets of my last full conversation with my mom. How we'd joke about hard situations. She quizzing me on school subjects, though I'd never gotten above a C, let alone aced a quiz. When she'd taught me morse code, 'just in case'. I hadn't known what she'd meant by 'just in case'. Until now.
My facial expression remained set hard in stone. I couldn't keep the whirlwind of memories out of my head ever. Never. If I'd just been more careful...

I shrugged. "Do I look like I know? I didn't even see her!"

"Eh, I'm sure she's fine. Probably off killing monsters right now." I shrugged.

I continued through the forest, now almost a strange sea of black ink. The trees whispered uninterpretable words as the wind blew steadily through them, not that you could see the leaves at all. There were short twigs on the ground, witch made crunching noises as I stepped on them. Soon it grew into a steady pattern
Crunch. Thump, thump. Crunch. Thump, thump.
The ground was hard-packed, but since I was still angry, I walked stiffly, so everytime I didn't place my foot down on a stick or an old leaf, the sound seemed to echo.
"Rrrr..."
I promptly ignored the light growling. It is the forest. I should expect monsters. None of them came out into the open, though, and since my mind was too warped around my distant memories of the past, this didn't strike me as strange at all.
"GRRRR..."
See? No monsters.

I stared into the gloom of the darkening forest. "Maybe we should leave. It's almost dinner time." I suggested to Bella.

(It is getting SO HARD to do really long posts...)
Crystal: There was a loud THUMP behind me. I didn't bother to look around. It was freakin' FREEZING [because it was February, and it just snowed] here, and no monster in their right mind would come out.
But then again, monsters were never in their right mind.
WOOMPH! A giant shadow bowled me over. I was on my back on the muddy ground [getting dirt all over my white sweater in the process] staring into the face of a carvinous hellhound.
"Hrrrrr..." Was the best description anyone would be able come up with when you hear a hellhound growling. I glared right back into it's glowing red eyes, wondering why it didn't just kill me already.
"AROOF!" It sounded more like a wolf then a hellhound. I closed my eyes, waiting for death.

I heard barking deep inside the forest. But because it was so deep, it was hard to hear. "IS that-" Then I heard barking again, louder. I bolted in that direction with Ally right behind me.
