Jake walked up to Rachel and Alyssa, "Hey" he said to the two girls. He apparently was no good at making guy friends. And now Ari was deaf and Anna was dead. Sigh.

I turned back to him. "Sure. Hang on, then." I went to the refreshments table and grabbed some plates. Then, when people weren't looking, I grabbed a basket and mixed the cookies inside of the basket with the cookies from another basket. I put a few chocolate chip cookies in, some pie, then went back to Shade. "Do you like chocolate?"

Then he condentrated and they melted into the shadows.

Too late. They were there anyway. Shade sighed and sat down. His head was spinning. He needed some recovery time....
