Claycob knew Ari was a slight phyco path, ( ;D) so he knew to talk. "Hear me out and let me finish! He joined Gaia. But they don't trust him. They have reason to. He's going to rescue our sister, and betray them. I can feel what he feels." Claycob was in near tears. "When he comes back to camp... what will happen to me?"

And that stuff we-I said this morning was true. He loves you Ari. We love you. You know that? When we got the message from Erebus that Mikayla was killed, we were seriously depressed. You helped us. But when we found out there was a chance to save her, we had to take it. He'll be back. I'll die, but he'll have you. That's all I want." Claycob went limp.

(Did you notice how similair this is too another Rick Riordan book? In the Red Piramid, the charcter's crush turned out to be a statue brought to life. She died near the end while the boy searched for the original. lol. I just noticed!)
Claycob noticed he fell in love. He was a statue. Not even human. He loved Ari. But he figured it was best for Original to be with her. He held onto her. "I won't ever leave you." He let go awkwardly. "Please keep this a secret. When Jacob comes back, fill him in, and tell him to act like nothing happened. OK?"
