Terry was spread out on his bed. He stared up at the ceiling, his smoky gray eyes watching the rotating blades of the fan twirl slowly around and around. He watched it absentmidedly, blankly, as if the life had been sucked out of him and now he was trying to regain his energy.
His life had been gone. He was supposed to be dead. But Ace had transferred the rest of his energy into him. And now Ace was dead. Those peircing sharp green eyes so full of life and energy from the Earth were now dull. He was gone.
Terry couldn't find the sense to shift in his bed. Instead, he just lay there, staring. The words from Gaea playing and echoeing through his head like a hypnotizing song.... You're the one who should have died.

Running footsteps grew louder and stomped up the cabing porch steps. The door burst open and Shade came running in out of breath.
"Terry! I-"
He stopped at the sight of his dejected friends just laying there.
"Terry, are you alright?"
Something was obviously bothering the always cheerful friend of his.

Terry didn't hear his footsteps. He was stuck mesmerizing over the cieling. When Shade burst in, it starled him, making him sit up suddenly. As if he was waking from a nightmare. "Wha-" He noticed Shde's worried expression. "No, I was thinking of something. I'm fine." He forced a smile that was obviously fail. He faltered and let out a sigh, "I was thinking about stuff, that's all. But why so noisy? You wanna wake up the whole camp?"

Shade looked at Terry with doubtful eyes. He was lying, of course. Something was bothering him. He had learned, however, not to pester Terry or else he would feel pressure and hide it even more. And feel th full stress from whatever subject he was worried so much about. So Shade knew this news was going to take his mind off of it...probably.
"There's a kid at Gaea's who came with Krissie today. He wore a mask, but he sounded like Ace, had his card sword, and powers."

"What?" Terry blinked at the news, some shock entering his dull gray eyes, turning them stormy. What was going on? A kid just like Ace...but that was impossible. Ace was dead.

Shade watched Terry's expression. Being the kinder one, Terry had bonded with Ace the best. And Ace had died saving him. He probably still blamed himself for it. This news would impact Terry the most. So he was just silent.

"So you're sure?" Terry stared at the wall of the cabin. "Well, I don't really know what to say about it." Who wore a mask these days? Eh, it didn't matter. He wanted to know who this kid was. They would find out later.
