sitting around looking for something to do

Behind Brook a girl with blonde haired girl wearing a ragged camp half blood t-shirt and black skinny jeans appeared out of a slightly perfume scented cloud of pink and red smoke. Katie wrinkled her nose, not getting why that had to happen every time she teleported. The girl sitting in front of her didn't seem to notice. "Hello!" she chimed in, to draw Brook's attention to herself. "How are you today?"

I realize we have just introduced ourselves in two different threads...oh well.

"My name is Katie Butler," she said. "Daughter of Aphrodite, Cabin leader, not that that even means much now considering we're all in a war against Gaea-wait, you know about that, right?" Katie suddenly cut herself off, not wanting to sound crazy to Brook, unsure of how much this daughter of Iris knew about their current predicament.

Katie shrugged and sat herself down on the soft green grass next to the rainbow haired daughter of Iris. "Some new demigods didn't know, I just thought...eh. Sorry, I guess." The daughter of Aphrodite laughed rather bitterly. "We're in the middle of a warzone...sorry to disappoint you." Blonde hair blew about Katie's face, and she looked out at the fields and fields of green grass dotted with darker green bushes full of plump red berries.

Absentmindedly, fiddling with a few pieces of grass, the ends of the green tufts lit up in pink and red fire. Katie looked at the flaming piece of greenery, only mild surprise showing on her face. Whenever she got distracted, she ended up lighting something on fire...Katie let the grass burn out. The ashes blew away with the wind. She turned to Brook again. "For what it's worth, welcome to Camp Half-Blood."

Katie jerked her head around at the exclamation of shock that came from Brook. "What?" She turned to see the grass around her lighting up and exploding in little puffs of red and pink, looking quite like a mini fireworks display and smelling like burning designer perfume. "Damn it!" Katie cursed, and swatted out the fires with one hand. The flames, of course, did not hurt her the slightest. Quickly the strangely coloured fire went out, and the faint smell of smoke and gardenia perfume slowly began to fade away.

Katie looked at the shocked daughter of Iris, sheepishly rubbing the back of her neck. "Er...yeah. About that...I can kind of control fire, and why the hell it has to be pink and red and smell like perfume, I don't know. The only upside to that is that the sheer overwhelming stench of the fire is enough to sent most monsters fleeing, coughing and hacking along the way."

Katie dropped her hand to her side, and looked around, wary for anymore signs of plants about to explode into fire...as long as it didn't spread to the strawberries. One heck of a time that'd be, explaining to Mr. D...oh wait, Mr. D wasn't here. He was back on Olympus with the other gods...doing...whatever the hell they were doing. Well, that was one good thing...

Katie cracked a smile. "Yep. We all have messed up powers here...I can control fire and light...er, not exactly control, as you see from that little scene there...but...nevermind. Say," Katie added, peering at the other demigoddess curiously, "what're your powers? You don't have to answer if you don't want to," Katie added quickly, just in case.
