Shade leaned against the tree. Lately, he had been thinking very clearly. Something was off. That kid Colton. Something was very off. Everything about him kind of bothered Shade. He was cold, and just didn't get along with anyone really. Terry had told him the kid didn't want to fight for the camps. So why did he? What a puzzling person. They couldn't have someone they couldn't figure out in camp. They were in the middle of a war. He wanted to know if everyone was one their side. They didn't need the camp endangered by someone who didn't want to help and could betray them anytime.

An arrow as black as night zipped out of the trees at lightning speed, aimed straight at Shade. Colton was in a pretty rotten mood, but then again, when wasn't he?

Shade heard it before he saw it. He ducked out of the way, the black weapon embedding itself into the gunk of the tree he had been leaning on.
"What? Colton!"
He recognized the arrow, and knew its owner.
"You could have killed me!"
He shouted up at the tree.

"Like I care!" Colton spat back, appearing in the trees. He sat on a branch above Shade. "This better be good, boy. The ghost you sent woke me up in a very unruly manner." He was wet. The ghost had happened to be a son of Poseidon.

Shade spotted the older boy up in the tree. Not being the type to fight, shrugged apologetically. He had noticed that Colton was wet, and wondered what exactly the ghost had done to wake him up. Well, he didn't see the ghost around anymore. He could guess why.
"Just get down here, please. I need to talk to you."

Colton jumped down ungratefully with a snort. He eyed the shorter kid angrily. "A bucket of water, seriously? Where the heck did he get that?" He cracked his knuckles like he was satisfied with whatever he had done to get revenge on the ghost. He glared at Shade. "Out with it, what did you want?"

"S-sorry."
Shade raised his arms as Colton jumped down, giving him a deadly glare that the son of Pluto considered way less than friendly. He wasn't sure how to start.
"Um...One fo my friends was talking to me the other day. He told me you were hesitating and stuff. My other friend also said, during the raid by Gaea she...I meant that...Are you...possibly a spy? From Gaea's? But not anymore, right?"
Shade looked at Colton cautiously for a reaction his sword fizzed to life behind him just in case.

Colton crossed his arms over his chest, staring down at Shade with his intense blue gaze impatiently. He felt like rushing the boy, but he waited. When he finally spit out his question, it took Colton completely by surprise. He stared at Shade with complete shock filling his blue eyes. "I..." he paused, finding himself speechless. Crap.

Shade saw and knew that look that crossed his face all too well. He had nailed him. He was just as shocked as Colton. It had been true... Now way... Hadn't Colton fought against Cy during the last raid, though? He had gotten his scars from him.
"So it's true...You've got to help us, then!"
Shade begged.
"You were on our side, right? You helped us, and you have information we can use! Please, Colton!"

"I'm..." Colton almost stepped back in hesitation. "I don't..." He was visibly hesitating. Colton looked at Shade. His hazel eyes were full of hope. Maybe his knowledge could really help the camps. "Well, alright, but you'd better keep your mouth shut about my being a former Gaea." He told him.

Shade was really surprised. Colton was someone who usually kept to himself. When he had first came, he refused to join either side. The son of Pluto found the boy easier to trust now.
"Colton, we need to know all we can about Gaea. You know their weaknesses, right? You've been to their camp more than once."

Terra had been trailing Colton, truthfully. Her orders from Gaea made her stomach churn. To disable him. To make sure he never told a soul anything about Gaea's forces. Terra just didn't feel comfortable killing. She clicked her wristwatch and Aculeus formed itself, shining bright golden. A dagger clicked into place for her. She held it up, looking sadly at the green poison inside. It was like shooting an injection. The poison would put Colton in a coma. She felt horrible, but it was better than killing him. Terra closed her eyes, and shot it out at the boy from the trees. Shade would never get to know what he wanted to know.

Shade saw the dagger from his position. Colton, who was turned away and clearly frustrated on whether or not t give information wasn't able to detect it. It all happened so fast. Shade shove Colton to the side. He was smaller, so he took a lot of effort, and wasn't fast enough to dodge the dagger that sank deep into his shoulder. Shade rolled onto the ground, feeling oddly numb and mute. For some reason, everything was fading fast around him. It was getting harder to breathe. It wasn't like one dagger was fatal, right? So why was it making him sleepy...?

"Well.." Colton hesitated, looking down at Shade. There was a sudden whizzing sound. He turned around to see a flash of golden. Before he could react, he was shoved out of the way. Colton landed farther away and slid. He was trained well enough to react fast, though. His sword was slid out from his sheathe immediately. He sent Phantom hurtling towards where Terra was hiding before scrambling to his feet.
"Hey! Kid!" Colton bent down next to Shade, examining his wound. It was poisoned, and the dagger was barbed. He couldn't just pull it out, it would cause the boy a great deal of pain. The poison was already affecting him, though, which wasn't good. Guilt pricked him hard, and he picked up the smaller boy. "I'm getting you out of here first."

"Ugh..."
Shade muttered. His shoulder was welling with bright scarlet liquid. He couldn't really feel it anymore. And he was sleepy. Slowly, he closed his eyes.
Terra~ The daughter of Demeter winced as she hit Shade. Wrong person. She was going to shoot another one at Colton, but his sword came flying out at her. She managed to deflect it off of Aculeus, but she hadn't been expecting the attack, and topped off her branch. She managed to catch herself on a lower branch, but the moment she did, they were already gone. Terra had failed. But she had hit Shade. Without the antidote, he wasn't going to wake up.
