Fennris sighed, sitting on a log and examining her large Bowie Knife. Fennris was the daughter of Artemis, yet she had no powers. Except for the power of being able to bend the shadows. Oh well, it couldn't be helped. That's why she became a professional in weaponry.
She head the rush of footsteps and clutched the knife even tighter, her orange eyes on alert for who was there. She was just being cautious really. |

Katie burst out from between two close trees and whirled around, holding her knife. "There's a hyperborean giant behind me...yeesh how'd these things even get into camp?" she muttered, the last part to herself. "I thought we only had-" Katie had to stop talking because a, well, giant with icy blue skin and strange grey hair crashed through the trees. Poor dryads.
"I kill," he stated simply. Katie wondered for a moment if the thing was brainwashed but had to duck its club in the next second so she didn't have much time to wonder. Katie jabbed her knife into the monster's stomach, causing liquidy blue blood to spill out. "Little help?" she asked sarcastically.

Lorelei popped out of a bush and raced over to Katie, her knife held defensively. "I'm better at my mental powers." she added. "Watch this."
She stepped up to the giant. "Hey ugly!" It looked at her. She concentrated hard. The giant was a monster. Monsters had killed her mom and her satyr. Dark feelings bubbled up inside of her. Pain, loss, death, anger...the world was coated with red haze. Her eyes flashed red. Suddenly, a powerful thirst for destroying something overwhelmed her. She let all of those dark feelings out in one scream, directed at the giant. It looked at her, frozen. Then it dropped to the ground, dead.
Lorelei turned to Katie to smile and boast, but the red haze didn't completely fade yet. And instead, Lorelei glared at Katie. Katie...a demigod. She was a demigod, too. She never wanted to be a demigod...it got her mother killed. Lorelei could feel the anger inside her again. Her blue and purple eyes flashed red. The feelings came again. Monsters had killed her friends...a friend. Katie. She blinked. Suddenly, all of her anger disappeared. So did the red haze.
Lorelei shuddered. "Whenever I think about dark things, I get...get...this feeling. That I want to kill something. Whenever that happens, I direct the feeling at something, and boom," she stared at the giant. "Dead. But the power is hard to control. Sometimes after I...kill something, I-I can't stop." She looked down at her feet. "I try not to use this power except for emergencies. I shouldnt have done it just now." Lorelei looked up at Katie, locking eyes. Her voice was a whisper now. "I could have killed you, Katie. I was close to doing it. Too close. But I realized it just in time." Lorelei's whisper turned into a frustrated shout as she said, "I think this power...it drives me insane at times. There are some times where I just sit in my cabin and scream. It's like a disease!" Lorelei was breathing hard now. It felt good to tell someone.

Katie took a little step back, slightly afraid. "My gods," she finally said. "Lorelei, you never told anyone before?"

Lorelei looked over at Ari and Fennris. Her eyes darkened. "You guys won't tell, right?" Her eyes flashed. "You won't tell anyone..." she said in a sickly sweet voice.

(No offense, but actually didn't read yours, our Katie's posts. I don't like reading long posts, so I just skim. I don't link the format on proboards. It gives me a headache. So don't feel bad, I never really rread long posts. I just go by what people respond to.)
