"No! I don't want to!" Ace suddenly was yelling back at Shade. He closed his eyes.

Shade stepped forward suddenly. He caught his wrist to keep him from running.
"Ace, we're not going to hurt you. We're trying to help you. So tell us."
His voice had returned to it's normal gentle tone.

"My parent. Godly parent, I mean." Ace tried to pull away from Shade. His green eyes were terrified of them both.

Shade let out a sigh, keeping a firm grip.
"What about your godly parent? It's alright if you don't like who it is. But why would we hurt you for it?"

The tattoo on his arm was the mark of the Earth. A warring earth.
Ace took a deep and shaky breath. He looked like he was going to hyperventilate or go crazy. "She's...My godly parent...no...she's a Titan..." his words were jumbled and barely audible.
Ace managed to swallow and calm down somewhat. He was still shaking though. "Gaea. I'm the son of Gaea."

I gaped at Ace. "Gaea...is your mother?" Well, it would explain what the green thing was... It was still hard to register. Gaea was his godly parent? Titan...ly parent? Whatever. At least most of the things made sense now...

Shade was shocked at the fact. It made his distrust with him grow. But he didn't show it.

Shade was still suspicious.

"Yeah..I had hated you guys...I was never could go to your camp. My mother told me without you guys, she would be at the top of the world. I would be there next to her....But I saw so many people die." Ace said sadly.

Shade watched Ace think about it. His words were slow. Shade found himself feeling like he hated him. For no reason at all, too. He just didn't like him. He couldn't trust him, maybe that's why. He had done too many things that had hurt the campers.
"What was your job before? You were Gaea's son. You had to have some important job. And you have to have information about Gaea."

Ace really didn't want to answer Shade. But he did.
"I knew most of what Gaea knew. I know all your pasts. I know your reason to join. I know what Gaea has and can use to black mail people into joining. Actually, I was the one that came up with things to black mail people with. For instance, I knew that if we threatened to kill Terry or your mentor, Dodge, you would most likely join or stay." Ace told them his whole job. He was ashamed. Now Gaea was using Dodge for Terry. But he couldn't tell them. He was too afraid to. This was all mostly his fault.

So this job was...Dodge being held was because of Ace? The reason why he had nightmares and headaches was because of him. His deadly personality he wished he never had surfaced because of him. Then also Terry being captured to convince Shade to stay with Gaea was also his idea? Then Izumi died because of...
"You..!"
Shade was in front of Ace before anyone could react. Shade slammed him back against a tree. His sword was out at his throat. His hand was trembling. He wanted to kill him. He wanted so bad to kill him right then and there. But he controlled the brunt of his anger.
"Do you know how many people hade to make painful sacrifices and choices because of you? Did you know what your plans did? You're heartless!"

Ace had been expecting Shade to be angry. He knew he was thinking of Izumi. He hadn't expected that girl to be a traitor and for all that to happen. Actually, her dying was a wake up call for him. What was going on was wrong.
Ace hit the tree painfully, but before he had much time to wince, he had to jerk his head back and remain still. His bright green eyes stared at his hazel ones. "I know. I know what I was putting you all through. I hated you all back then. But I want to change. You don't nave to trust me for me to help you."
