Temporarily known as Ace, he walked through the trees of the forest. He found where Shade and Caroline had found him. The blood trail was still there. He began to follow it all the way to the border. Flashes of memories flew through his mind. He had been scared of something. Very scared. Something had given him a cut. It slashed open his arm. There was a flash of red pain. Then he had crossed the border and ran. He knew what the border was, and that this was a camp...how?

Shade leaned against a tree. He stared at him.
"Don't go outside the border, or I'll kill you."
His voice was hostile and suspicious.

Ace flinched at his voice. His tone was scathing. Ace turned around with shocked green eyes. He wasn't sure how to reply.

(Looks like we can still be pretty active.)
Shade ignored Caroline for now.
"So, did you remember anything?"
Shade stood straight and walked over to Ace. At the same height, Shade met his eyes. Hazel to green.
"You better not be lying, and if you do anything that makes me think you will hurt my friends or the camp, you don't have to worry about remembering because you'll be dead. Do you understand?"

I winced at Shade's words. I honestly thought he was being a bit tough on Ace, even if I agreed with him.

Ace took a step back, holding up his arms. "Yeah, you didn't have to tell me. I know." Frustration and anger was boiling inside of him. But he knew if he lashed out, he would lose all chances of being trusted. He was about to say something else when his green eyes widened.
"What's that..?" He saw the ground bubble and shift into a shape behind all of them. Ace was the only one facing the figure forming itself.

A soft laugh came from behind them. "'What's that' is rather rude, don't you think?" Gaea's figure showed up from the earth. Her closed brown eyes turned at them. "Who is that is more accurate."

I spun around in shock as I recognized the voice. My eyes widened in shock, then narrowed. "Gaea." My sword was immediately in my hand. I glared at her. "Why are you here?" If it had something to do with Ace...

Shade saw his expression. He turned around at Gaea's voice and glared.
"Gaea. What are you doing here?"
His swords appeared in the air. His temper flared. She had taken away his ability to use his powers to the maximum.

Ace took a defensive step back at her name. For some reason, he felt his adrenaline begin to pump. The scratch on his arm throbbed even thought it was supposed to be healed and nothing but a scar. Something weird was with her. She had something to do with his past.

"You all are so rude. I came here for a special visit for Herum and I find he has already made new friends. So sad..." Gaea sighed mockingly.
"Seems like you've really forgotten everything. It makes me want to cry. Your memories, shall I give them back?" She held out her hand and a glowing orb of green and white swirled brightly in her palm.

Shade took a step forward angrily. His swords were flaming and unsheathed.
"His name is Ace now."
But now he knew Ace had something to do with Gaea. He paused at the sight of the memories she had. He remembered his own lack of memories. And he felt sorry.
"Why did you take his memories away?"

Gaea laughed at Shade's words. "My, what a lovely name, it suits you, Herum. I guess I shall call you Ace from now on as well." She turned to Shade and raised a hand. "You're noisy."
A column of earth shot out of the ground and wrapped around his legs and arms tightly. His swords dropped. Then she looked at Caroline and formed a cage of earth around her.
She shrugged and held out her hands casually. "It was quite simple. I was trying to kill him. My powers dim considerably because of the stupid barrier. I'm not able to kill in this place. Only restrict. So I took his memories away. Didn't he seem like a spy? I had you most convinced, Shade. My dear traitor, you almost felt like killing him, didn't you? But now you just gave him a warning. You didn't kill him. So he's useless. I'm going to give back his memories and watch the show."
Gaea held out her hand, the orb glowing brightly. "Come here, Ace. Take it back if you want it."

Shade jerked back in surprise, but it was too late. Ribbons of hard ground restricted his movement. He struggled uselessly to move. He looked over at Caroline who was in the cage. He glared at Gaea as she continued with her explanation. So he was a threat to Gaea. He had been so stupid.
"Don't go over there, Ace!"
Shade told him.

Ace turned to see the ground erupt and Caroline and Shade were out of action so quickly. He pulled out his card. He stopped at her comment. He could get his memories back?
He looked at Shade and Caroline who had told him not to. He was confused. But she said she didn't have the power to kill him in these borders... He took a step forward, then stopped.
"Why do I have to walk over to you? Just return my memories." Ace demanded.

Gaea shook her head. "I see you haven't grown any smarter. I have to keep in contact with them to keep them all concentrated right here. You have to touch it to regain it. Like I said, I don't have strong enough powers in this barrier. You better hurry, or they'll disappear."

Ace gritted his teeth in annoyance. His memories were right there in front of him. He looked over at Shade and Caroline. Why did they care? The realization dawned on him. They thought of him as a spy and wanted to guard him all day. They never had trusted him. He had nothing to lose of he died. So even if this was a trap, there wasn't much to pay. He started walking to Gaea wordlessly.
