(Open)I'm back, but a part of me never will

Terry looked at Shade. He looked at Summer and Ari. He decided to let it go. What was he going to do when he faced Ace next time? It was his fault... He sighed. "Well, at least we got someone back..."

Shade~ He watched Summer and Ari. He closed his eyes, deciding to accept her. If Terry trusted her, then he would. And Ace had sacrificed himself because he trusted Summer. Shade looked at Summer with dull hazel eyes. He should have been nicer to Ace. He should have trusted him. But he hadn't. And the last time he saw him on their side was him getting captured by Gaea. He shouldn't have let that happen. He would trust Summer.

Terry looked at her for a while. "We got a new member, lost him." Terry was referring to Ace. "We've rebuilt most of the camp and we have defense peramaters set up. We're training for defense and I'm setting up a battle plan for Gaea's next attack. Do you know when it is?" Terry asked hopefully.

"No, it won't." Terry replied to Summer. His dark gray eyes were defiant. His look was so confident that he even believed it himself. "You never know until we try."

Shade~ He nodded next to Terry. They weren't going to give up yet. Not until it was over.

"Numbers don't count if you have a good strategy." Terry held up one of his rolls of maps tucked under his arm. "We're going to set traps soon. And come of with any formation."

Shade got that bored look. Terry's plans were all good, but his friend had made him go over them with him. He knew them better than the back of his hand.
"Show them the one we have finished."


Terry nodded and unfolded a map. "Uh, wrong one...um...this...um...no..." He flipped through the maps.

Shade let out a small sigh. Terry could be pretty clumsy sometimes.
Terry, if you remember, the map we have finished was a blueprint that had a red rubber band and was rolled up. All of these are folded."

"Oh, so it is." Terry let out a nervous laugh. He was a bit tired from planning all this. "I left it in the cabin. Gimme a sec." He took off across the clearing and disappeared into the cabin.

"...Yeah."
Shade remembered that she was the first one to greet him at Gaea's.

"Pretty good."
It was an awkward conversation. Shade didn't have much to say.

The question made Shade's eyes darken. He looked down. He remembered everything about the boy.
"He was nice. He always put others before himself and tried to gain our trust."
The problem was, Shade hadn't trusted him until he was captured. And he regretted it.
