Ace turned around to check the distance between him and his pursuers. He blinked in surprise at Summer's bow and arrows. Not good... He wouldn't be able to dodge while running without looking. So he stopped and held out a hand. With some effort, the ground underneath Summer and Shade began to ripple unevenly and shake. It would make running harder... Ace took off again.

Shade blinked as Ace stopped and turned around. Before he could react, he was stumbling as the ground underneath his feet began to shake. It began to rise and sink like waves. Shade couldn't run properly. But before they got past the forest, they had to stop him. He held out a hand and a black flame shot up in front of Ace. He forced it to form a circle and enclose Ace inside. The ground stopped rumbling and Shade went forward.

Ace lost his concentration as the black fire sprang up around him. The mark on his shoulder stopped glowing as he released the power and the ground went flat again. He turned around to run, but that was closed off too. He narrowed his green eyes at the heat. One tongue of black fire leapt out hungrily at him. Ace jumped back. The blazing heat was unbearable for him. He lifted up his sword and a wall of earth surrounded him. Then it pushed outward, forcing the fire away from him slowly. Ace was running out of power.

I stumbled and almost tripped over cracks in the earth, then it stopped, and I looked up to see a circle of fire surrounding Ace. "Thanks, Shade," I murmured, then took aim at Ace. He had just pushed away the fire. "I'm sorry about this, but..." I let the arrow fly.

Ace turned to see the arrow just in time as it hit his shoulder. Ace stumbled backward, and calmly yanked it out. It had sunk into the dirt that he had encased around his shoulder at the last second. Ace looked at Summer and closed his eyes, looking away. He had to fight them, after all. The bow and arrow was a problem. He raised his sword, refusing to look as a tangled mass of earth shot out of the ground. The tips were sharp. The long ropes stabbed out at Shade and Summer.

(lol, wheres Jacob? R we flooding him?)
Shade's eyes widened. He jumped back as one sharp tipped tendril slammed into the ground where he was a moment before. He ran to the side as three chased after him. One sliced a cut in his arm and ripped through the sleeve of the Camp Half Blood T-shirt. He mumbled about having Terry doing some sewing later before returning the attack with a flaming black fire ball at Ace.

(Oops I'm behind.) (BTW, It's Jacob. I just noticed I've been jumping characters, lol.) Jacob panted hard as he tried to keep up. He wasn't in the best shape, since he woke up 10 minutes ago. He stopped and leaned against a tree. He sighed and tried sending a mental message to Claycob. He was in the Athena Cabin. He told him to stop the Ace kid. Jacob slid down the trunk by his back once he was finished.

"Ow! Hot!" Ace jumped to the side as the fireball flew past him. His hand was skimmed by the flame. And it hurt. Ace almost dropped his sword. Almost. He turned around to look at Shade who had caught up. No choice. He swung his sword out at him.

Shade narrowed his eyes at Ace. He caught his sword with his left. They paused, Shade's hazel eyes were peircingly accusing. "You followed your mother after all." He slashed out with his right.

(Are you two trying to fight Gaea's son? You still won't stand a chance!) Jeremy concentrated deep, trying to meditate. He felt something going on in the forest. He shook his head. He almost got killed once minding others business. Jeremy tried to concentrated but his senses told him to go in to the forest. He scowled as he stood up. Jeremy felt this strange power source... Jeremy focused his mind on a point as he teleported. Bam! Jeremy fell down on the earth. He searched for any sign of trouble. The source of power was getting stronger. He was startled by a loud noise and he hid behind a tree. He saw Shade and Summer battling this boy. Jeremy climbed up a tree to get a better look. As he rested on a branch he heard a crack. The branch under him snapped as he tumbled on to the ground. He performed a tuck and roll trick to soften the landing and found himself in the middle of the battle. Jeremy hated to barge in but he had no choice. He searched his pockets and his weapon pouch. Nothing. Jeremy cursed for he just walked into a battle weaponless.

Jacob caught up finally. He didn't understand what was happening, or who he was, but if Ace posed a threat to Camp, he was his enemy. He pulled out the dice Heads of the Dragon, and got his sword. He was distracted by Jeremy entering, so he stood back.

Summer~ ( whatever) "Damn," I cursed, and dodged a tendril of sharp earth. Before I had time to react, another one flew by, making a cut on my cheek. I ignored it and spun around to see Shade and Ace fighting. Then Jeremy appeared out of nowhere. What the hell? "I'll go back to camp to warn the others," I called, and sprinted for the direction of the camp.

Hurt registered in his eyes at Shade's words. "You know I hate doing this. But I don't have a choice." He moved out of the way of his sword, jumping back. He stabbed his sword into the ground and rocks floated up from the ground. He took out his sword and waved it at Shade. The sharp edges shot out at Shade.
Ace noticed Jacob and Jeremy entering. His green eyes were dull and sad. "Are you guys going to join too?" He shifted his broken arm in the sling. He didn't know how long he could hold all of them. Then it hit him. This mission was nearly impossible. Had his mother sent him here just to get killed? For what purpose? He already swore on the River Styx...

"Not if you surrender," Jacob said. "I already set up a fail-safe." He was talking about Claycob, of course. He felt bad about out-numbering him, truthfully. It wasn't fair, no matter what side you're on. "So what do you say?"

Shade let out a small yelp and dove to the right. A few rocks he blocked with his swords. Even that wasn't enough. One stabbed into his shoulder, which made him wince. It would leave a bruise. Another made a cut in his leg. It was small, and not a big deal. He got up and studied Ace's sad green eyes. "Surrender, Ace. I don't want to fight you. You feel the same, right?"

"Yeah..." Ace sounded frustrated, like he was going to start beating his head against a tree in the tension. But...
You must follow my orders. You have to keep your word, my son. Kill them if you can. Then get the maps.
I DON'T WANT TO!!! Ace nearly screamed out. But he had to. He couldn't kill anyone here. Ace forced his eyes shut painfully, as if this was costing him his life force. He held out a hand and the rocks were pulled from the ground. They sharpened themselves and took aim at Jeremy, Jacob, and Shade. They floated around him like a whole flock of birds. But much smaller. And sharper. Should he release them? Send then flying at them? Should he?

(Meh, I'm gonna come back now!)
Summer~ I appeared at the edge of the trees, slightly panting. "The Athena and Minerva kids are back from Archery so they'll-" I cut off and my eyes narrowed as I saw the rocks raised. "Ace, don't. Don't let them go."
After a second's hesitation, I said, "Hit me."

"What?" Jacob looked at her in shock. "No!" What is she talking about? He looked at her. What had gotten into her?

Summer~ "Yes," I said forcefully, with a glare at Jacob. The look in my eyes was clear. You guys go. At least this way, they would trust me again...right?

Ace opened his eyes in surprise at Summer's voice. The rocks clattered to the ground. He was trying to get a hold of himself. Confusion battered his mind. Ah, he had just disobey rules... If you swear on the River Styx and break the rules? What happened? He had said he would serve Gaea though...he had said he would rejoin. But he never said he would follow her every order...
"Summer, be real, I worked this hard to save you and now you want me to hurt you?" Ace raised his sword, staring at the blade. "The one that should die...is me."
Before anyone could react, he had turned that blade on himself and stabbed into his side. He closed his eyes slowly, and rolled onto the ground. Bright red blood poured onto the grass. Maybe this was it...? Maybe it was best. No one would have to worry about it anymore. He wouldn't have to hurt or kill. He would escape his mother.
(Nah, he's not gonna die. Almost though.)
