I sidestepped and slashed at Melinda's arm as it swung past me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Terry shouting orders at campers. I slashed at Melinda again before leaving her and sprinted to where Terry was standing. "I'll help?"

"What do you know about me?" Ace leaned casually against his sword. "I have all the power in the world as long as I stand next to my mother. Is it really the wrong choice? I don't have to suffer anymore." His green eyes studied her. Is this what revenge felt like? He wanted to kill. He wanted to kill them all.
Shade, who had given him his name. Threatened him countless of times even though he was trying to prove his loyalty. Who had just started trusting him because he had been captured.
Terry, who he had helped but ha resulted in his capture. His forever smile that mocked him.
Caroline, Her words of wisdom. Helping him after being beaten up by those Ares kids.
Summer, her way of being his friend, the reason he was bound to his mother.
Every friend he had made until now. They weren't his friends. They were pretending. Was it pity? Or maybe just to use him?
And worst of all. He hated this camp. Those spiteful eyes. Those untrusting gestures. The mocking voices. He realized he hated them all.
What are you thinking? They'e your friends! They're your fri....Your f... The word faded from his inner thoughts. What was the word again? Take it. Cling on to it like your life. The thing that always stood you up after you fell. What was it? Where was it?
Ace's eyes were no longer kind. They were hateful. As if the world was against him and he wanted it destroyed.

Claycob ran out into the clearing. He groaned. But unlike last time, he knew whicch side he was on. He took out his knife, and carved his caly arm into a sword. He charged.
Jacob also came out. He was slightly groggy, for sleeping so long, but shook it off. He pulled out his dice and got the double-bladed staff he loved so much. He sent a tendril out at a Gaea soldier, wrapping around his neck.

I opened my mouth to protest, then closed it again. He did have a point. Why should he have to suffer? I could only stare at him helplessly as coldness shone in his eyes.

"So you won't mind if I don't take it easy, right?" Ace store up off his sword and pulled it out from the earth, some of the ground rose up in a long rope that was attached to the tip of his blade. He swung it forward and the earth shot out in a whiplike form and snapped out at Caroline. It detached from his blade and formed into a sharp tendril that snapped out dangerously. He followed with a slash at Caroline.

"Do what you want." I jumped out of the way of the tendril, but before I could sidestep again, the sharp tendril snapped free. A water shield formed in front of me, but disappeared as the earth made contact with it. I knew that I should save energy for my powers for later, but I figured that fighting Ace would be the biggest challenge. I blocked his attack, then slashed at his hand holding the sword, trying to get him to drop it.

Ace smiled coldly. He threw up his sword and spun in a kick to disarm her sword. He caught his weapon with his other hand in the kick.

I pulled my sword back, and slashed at his leg as it passed. My eyes widened as he caught his sword with his other hand.

Ace's sharp green eyes followed her movements smoothly. The reason why he could move his arm was because he had grafted earth into the cracked bone to keep the pain from flaring up. He waved his arm and a rod of hard earth shot up straight to block her blade. He punched the rod and a spike shot out straight at Caroline's eye.

I yelped and ducked as the earth spike shot over me. It had been so close, I had felt a slight breeze. It was amazing how much control he had while using his powers.

Ace blinked as she ducked. "Nice reflexes." He said with a cold voice. The spike reformed longer like a guillotine and the blade was on the bottom. The sharp bottom bladed price of earth dropped down on her.

Shade's voice shot out from behind Caroline. He slid on his back and blocked the heavy piece of bladed earth with both of his swords in a cross. His arms shook under the stress. Ace was stronger than he thought...

"Don't interfere. I'll kill you later." Ace snarled at Shade who had suddenly appeared. The earth spread out and turned into a sharp rope that spread out to wrap around Shade.

Shade blinked as the earth dispersed and the weight was lifted. He scrambled to his feet but was caught by one of the ropes of earth. The rope was bladed. Who bladed rope? As it tightened, it began to cut into his arm. Shade crashed to the ground. If he struggled, the more it dug into him. He gritted his teeth at the pain.

Jasper and Leon were on the roof firing arrows, while Brent slashed members of Gaia. Eventually, some cussed him out right after he killed him/her

"Damn it!" Crap...why did Shade have to rush in and save me? "Let him go!" I looked at Ace with pleading eyes. "Please. Kill me first." I suddenly realized that I was casting a shadow over Shade. Maybe he could shadow travel away...?

Ace watched him coldly. He looked at Caroline with narrowed green eyes. "Naive." He hated that the most. The sacrificing, the giving up, the protecting. It made his blood boil. Why did they care so much for each other. "That's just to keep him still. Don't bother. You're first. I'm not killing him yet." Shadow traveling, of course, brought anything you were touching with you. The bladed role was very obviously in contact with Shade.
Ace sprang forward at Caroline and slashed at her shoulder.

I blocked his attack just barely by catching his blade on the hilt of mine. I looked around to see if anyone was close by to help.

"Looking for help?" His calm steely eyes stared into hers. They were and empty green void so dull that there seemed to be no emotion whatsoever inside. "It doesn't matter how much help you get. My mother will crush you all." He whirled at the first clash. He slashed at her head again with full force.
