My name is Terra Holly. I'm a rogue demigod. I'm fourteen years old, I think. I don't remember when my birthday is. I had a sister. Had a father. Still have a stupid excuse for a mother. And she could have saved them. She could have helped us. But she didn't. Never.
I always found the term "life" odd. What was it? The fact that you were merely existing? Or was it how you used your time? What did it mean to live?
In my point of view, "life" is something spiteful. I hate it. I'd be better off dead. But I'm still going through the painful process. No, I'm not going to die yet. I will endure it. Just to be defiant. Just to show them that I can keep living.
So Terra was living. She stumble up the field, watching the dracanae hiss at her. A barrage of needled vines shot up from the ground and entangled one. It moved, only to find them tighten. The monster's dust in no time.
Terra's arm hurts, some of their poison had burned her arm. It prevented her from using her sword. She blinked her dull violet eyes and watched as more vines shot up and strangled the other two. Then she sat down in the field with a sigh. She wouldn't have had trouble with them if she wasn't injured beforehand. Her legs were sore from the previous fight before these stupid dracanae decided to pick a fight with her.
Terra held her head between her hands in frustration, curling up. She didn't want to think about it. That fight beforehand didn't happen. But it did. Her sister had gone mad, crazy. Ceres hadn't helped her. And Terra was forced to kill her own sister. She was gone. And Terra wanted to be gone too.

Summer arrived at the strawberry field, her face curious. Now that she was back, and it had been a while since the second attack from Gaea, she was starting to visit all of the places in camp that she had loved. Walking along the edge of the field, she trailed a hand along the strawberry vines, touching each tiny fruit softly, careful not to break their delicate forms.
So many times had she been here before they knew about Gaea rising, and she was slightly ashamed. Back then, she had been foolish with her time here. If only the young her had known what choices she would have made... Summer's face looked younger and full of curiosity and innocent, like a child's, as she remembered what had happened here. So many things had happened just at these fields.
She had a soft spot for this place. Maybe because it was one of the places that hadn't changed since she had left. None of the fights or anything had damaged the field, since the field was at least a fair distance from the main camp. I mean, no one would go out of there way to crush the strawberries...at least Summer thought no one would.
The field was still every bit as beautiful as she had remembered it a year ago. And though it may sound like a short time, you'd be surprised how many things had happened in just a year of time. Summer was surprised, too. What had happened in a year's time? In a year's time, Krissie had joined Gaea and Summer had followed her. Sadness touched Summer's features a little at the thought of Krissie. Krissie had been her best friend.
What else had happened in a year? The two attacks from Gaea. She couldn't even count how many people had died from the attacks. A lot on both sides. But in the second attack, Summer had just returned from Gaea's army. And with some difficulty too. She felt guilty that Gaea had made Ace swear on the River Styx to save her... No, there was just too much that had happened in the last year.
She was snapped out of her daydream as she heard a sound of a vine rubbing against something. She glanced up warily as she spotted a huddled figure in the middle of the fields. Another camper. Summer's thoughts were still spiraling in her head, but she forced the topic away as she squinted at the figure. A girl, curled up. Summer raised an eyebrow. This was a peculiar sight. Probably a new camper.
"Hey," Summer called out hoarsely, then coughed to clear her throat, and tried again. "Hey."

Terra jerked up her head at the sudden sound. In the blink of an eye, she was on her feet and turned around. Her hood was pulled up. Her flashing lavender eyes were startled. At a raised hand, rose thorns shot up out of the ground in a net of spined tangled vine. She stopped at the sight of the girl, keeping the vined wall in between them. Demigod? Or monster as a human? Not human. She could sense that. She was silent, staring warily at her.

Summer smiled slightly as the girl sprang into action. New demigods to camp where always like that, always so cautious and aware of everything. Hmm... Summer's icy blue eyes followed the girl's movements as vines sprang up and weaved themselves into some kind of a net. Daughter of Demeter, perhaps? Or Ceres? Summer still wasn't used to living with the roman campers, even though she had been told that they had been living in the Greek camp for a few months now. It wasn't natural to Summer how much the two camps were kind of not arguing anymore. The Greek and Roman camp had been in conflict for years...centuries even, maybe.
"Who are you?"

Terry jogged up casually. The starwberry fields were his comfort zone. Like the forest for Shade. The lake for Caroline. Terry blinked at Summer's voice. Who was she talking to? Not wanting to be an eavesdropper, he trotted up over the hill to spot a large netting of thorned vine rising up. He whistled at the impressive view and spotted Summer and a new kid.
"Hey, Summer!" Terry called and ran up, glancing at the lavender eyed girl. Had to be daughter of Demeter. Or Ceres. Whatever. "Who's this..?" Had to be a newbie. She was injured, and he hadn't seen her in camp before. Probably a rogue demigod that stumbled onto the camp.

Summer turned to face Terry, though still keeping the girl in her line of vision, just in case. "Hey, Terry." Summer waved at him casually as he jogged up to them. She wondered what the girl felt right now.
"Who's this..?" "I don't know yet. I just came and she was just...there."

Terra watched another demigod boy pop up out of nowhere. Where was she? Where was this? She watched Summer and Terry exchange some words of her before she finally answered, "Terra Holly, daughter of Ceres."
They didn't seem to be of any harm, so she lowered the thorned netting back into the ground. To meet two demigods was rare. Were they also runaways? Looked too healthy for that.

(Thought it was Ceres?)
Summer shifted her full attention on the girl. It would make sense, since she had been controlling the rose vines. Summer smiled warmly at the girl, trying to make her feel welcome. They would need every new camper they could get. "I'm Summer and that's Terry. Welcome to Camp Half-Blood." She briefly wondered if the girl even knew what it was.

(Right, sorry. Force of habit.)
Terra blinked at her words, not comprehending. She tiltes her head and stared at the girl with her lavender eyes. "Camp?" she asked.

Terry grinned cheerfully at the new girl. He stepped forward from Summer until he was in front of the girl. "Well, I'm Terry Coleman, son of Minerva. Nice to meet you. This is a camp for demigods like you. We're safe together here." He explained to her.

Terra stepped back suddenly as he stepped forward. She was startled. A long brambled vine shot up to entangled Terry's arm, and she jumped back away from them.
"Stay away from me!" Terra hissed, her pruple eyes flashing. It was a habit she had. She was a very untrusting girl. "Camp? What are you talking about? I've never heard of such a thing!"

"Ack!" Terry stepped back quickly just as fast as she did, avoiding the vine as it passed his arm, nearly entangling him. Terry moved away with his hands up to calm her down. "Whoa, easy, it's not like we're going to hurt you. But I'm tellign the truth. This is Camp Half Blood. It's for demigods. Our safe haven, if you will. Look, you're hurt, you should go to the infirmary."

Summer walked up from behind Terry, watching the girl curiously. "Terry's right, you know." Her eyes dared Terra to disagree or protest and start a fight. "Though it's not always safe..." She trailed off.

Terra just narrowed her eyes at Terry and spat out spitefully, "I'm perfectly fine, and it's none of your bussiness!"
Terra looked at Summer as she stepped up next to Terry. The vines writhed and twirled in front of the two, as if being somewhat restrained from attacking them.
"Not always safe?" Terra repeated her words suspiciously, returning Summer a glare. Her violet eyes were full of suspiscion, but the vines withdrew themselves slowly and curled around her without making contact.
This was another thing her mother had failed to tell her. It made Terra's anger flare. If she had known earlier, she could have brought her sister here. They would have been safe. She wouldn't have had to kill her...

Summer smiled slightly, a sad smile. "Yes, that's what I just said. Not always safe." She wasn't going to go into the explanation of what was happening; she'd save herself the trouble and let someone else explain it to Terra.
"And you really should get to the Infirmary." Summer nodded at Terra's burnt arm.

Terra stubbornly tucked her arm tightly to her side to hide the burn. "What do you mean by not always safe?" What could be more dangerous than being a rogue demigod?

For the first time today, Summer hesitated. She shot Terry a glance. Should we tell her? Then, without waiting for his reply, she shrugged and regained her calm expression. "Sometimes, camp gets...attacked, let's call it..." And many people die... She left out that part, though. She figured that Terra would probably figure it out. If not, all the better for her.

"Attacked by what...who?" Terra wasn't sure how to take the news. Well, she was attacked frequently because her useless excuse of a mother had never helped her. So how bad could this camp be? And weren't these all demigods? Did their parents never help them? Figured, the gods were heartless. They didn't care for their children.

Summer was silent, then turned to Terry with a look for help. She wasn't sure what to tell this girl. If she used the wrong words, Terra might take it the wrong way and join Gaea, since that she was obviously a 'rogue demigod'.

"By whom." Terry corrected absentmindedly.
Terry hesitated, but Summer had said what she had said. She could know the rest. "Lately, there's been a...disagreement." Terry trailed off, unsure of what to say.
