{This thread is partly to annoy Summer, partly because I was thinking while listening to "Smile" by Avril Lavigne.}
Why, exactly are you here? Krissie asked herself again. She was-you guessed it, perched on a branch of a tree, looking down at the forest. Krissie's brow furrowed and a branch sticking awkwardly from the tree burned off. The nymph of that tree let out an irritated huff, looking around for the culprit. When she found none, she sighed and vanished into the tree.
Krissie leaned back against the tree, and felt something strange. Turning, around she noticed something. Before Krissie noticed it, she had smiled. Not one of her usual smiles-either a smile of glee before going in for the kill, or a fake, sarcastic one. It was a real, genuine smile, and strange happiness Krissie hadn't felt since awhile bubbled up inside her.
The reason why, I-I-I, I smi-i-i-ile.
In a heart there was a carved 'X+C=' followed by a crooked, hand-drawn heart. It was her sixteenth birthday, and one of the rare moments when she wasn't acting like she was happy. Xavier dared her to climb up a tree and carve something in it with a knife to annoy the nymph of that tree. Krissie-Crystal then-agreed to the dare and the little heart with the writing inside was the result. She showed Xavier, who loved it. The nymph threw a hissy fit and made them scram. As the two exited the forest, it started to rain. Laughing, truly happy, Crystal made some of the water pour harder on Xavier for fun.
And that's why I smile...
Krissie snapped back to reality, nearly toppling off the branch. Krissie quickly regained her balance, cursing under her breath. Then she looked back at the small carving, that would've been so insignificant...if not...the daughter of Poseidon swallowed.
It's been a while Since everyday and everything has felt this right
Stupid. Why did she care? The only reason she got a boyfriend was because that's what people her age did, and she didn't want to stick out like a sore thumb. That was the last thing she truly wanted. And that was the only reason. Even so, even Krissie couldn't help...but to smile.
{Aaaaand, someone should butt in right now. She's in the tree. xD}

(lol, WHY DOES KRISSIE ALWAYS SIT IN TREES?!? Oh, and you wanna actually do the thing we did at your house, but never finished? Make a thread in the Private Board.)
Summer was taking a random walk through the forest, examining every tree and plants. It was so familiar it hurt. She had walked along this same path years ago, she was sure of it. She didn't know why she chose now to revisit everything. Perhaps it was because she knew that the camps didn't have much time left. Soon there would be nothing left.
There were so many memories in this forest. She recalled that one time when she had been randomly scratching at the trees, and Krissie-Crystal then-had informed her that she was annoying the nymphs. She had been right, and the nymph popped out of the tree and shouted some not very pleasant words at her.
Summer stopped when she got to a certain tree. There were some letters carved into it. Under the letters, near the base of the tree was a long dent that her knife had made a while ago. X+C= then a heart? Summer had to smile at the sight. The X and C must have stood for Xavier and...Crystal.

{Sure. We'll do the thread on Private board. You make it, we'll start over.}
{Oh, and, I DID say this thread was partly to annoy Summer. That's why she's in the tree! }
The moment Krissie saw Summer, she darted between some other branches. Her earthy green and brown shirt helped her blend in a bit with the foliage. Her green baseball cap covered her sea green eyes, and she saw Summer clearly. Krissie was on the other side of the tree now, but saw Summer smile as she looked up at something in the tree. For a moment Krissie was puzzled, then remembered the carving that she'd seen just moments earlier.
You stole my heart and you're the one to blame
Krissie caught herself mid-smile and then immediately scowled darkly. Stupid emotions. She was supposed to destroy all the demigods, not fawn over one. Krissie resisted the urge to karate chop a tree branch. That would alert Summer, and she didn't want that...

(Fine.) Summer's smile wavered as she stared at the letters etched into the tree. What would Krissie think if she saw this again? Would what she do? Would she come back? Somehow, Summer didn't think that Xavier alone could bring her back, could he? Things were so complicated right now.
Sighing, Summer sat down at the roots of the tree behind the tree with the letters. And the tree Summer sat down at just happened to be the one Krissie was hiding in.

Krissie bit back a curse when Summer decided to sit at the roots of the very stinkin' tree she was in. Oh well. The downside of being in a tree's branches, she supposed. Because if someone walked in on you, you had to stay put in the branches until they went away. Krissie didn't want to risk teleportion, just in case...well, she didn't know. Just in case.
Krissie sighed instead and leaned on a branch. Summer didn't show any signs of moving away from the stupid tree...Move already, Krissie thought bitterly, and she was getting annoyed...not a good thing.
Almost on her own accord, her eyes strayed from Summer to the engraving on the tree again. 'X+C=¢¾' That was just last year, and it already felt like so long ago. After all the battles, in which Krissie felt like she'd killed thousands of people...
And suddenly you're all I need
Krissie jerked away from her thoughts and looked down again. Summer, move! It never occured to Krissie that she could just kill the daughter of Zeus and get over it...when she thought of it, Krissie hesitated. A small blue flame flickered to life in her hands...No. Krissie swallowed. Had she really been about to kill Summer? Krissie didn't think she could...injuring her old friends, but sending them to the Underworld? Would she go that far?

Summer tensed as she heard something. When Krissie had leaned back, the tiny movement had disturbed a branch, cause the leaves to rustle ever-so-slightly. Summer jerked her head up and noticed that she was being watched. Summer quickly sprang to her feet in surprise and saw that it was Krissie. What...what was she doing here? "K-Krissie?" Summer stammered in astonishment and disbelief.
(Ugh, didn't know what to write. Besides, I'm doing HW!)

Mmm...-Wait, what? "K-Krissie?" Krissie looked down, right on cue to see a very surprised looking Summer. Fuck. Krissie's eyes widened. Then-"Nice to know you haven't forgotten my name," she said sarcastically, the first rational reply the daughter of Poseidon could think of. Not the best, though. And she didn't know why she didn't just flash out then and there. Krissie should've. Later, Krissie would blame the 'stupid etching'.

"What are you doing here?" Summer was still trying to get over the shock of seeing the daughter of Poseidon. Why wasn't she back at the Wolf House? Perhaps she was here to recruit someone, or maybe just to spy on the camps? Didn't they have enough spies here already?

Summer crossed her arms and frowned at Krissie. What was wrong with her? Had she been always this mean? Well, apparently. That old Crystal was never Crystal. She ignored the sneering comment and continued, "Well, you must have a reason."

Krissie opened her mouth to make another sneering retort when she realized that she really didn't know why she was here in the first place. Krissie clamped her mouth shut quickly before Summer realized that she, the crazy powerful daughter of Poseidon and probably the most well-known traitor, was at a loss for words. Krissie tried not to show her confusion on her face. Why was she here? Krissie didn't even know. She didn't miss the camp, of course- you do. She was so lost in her thoughts Krissie only just thought Not now, before going back to thinking.
She kept coming back to Camp Half-Blood. And why was that? Krissie swallowed and in those four seconds in which she had not said anything, the raven haired girl convinced herself it was just to see how bad the camps were in person, and not just relayed info from a spy, so she could laugh and sneer at them before vanishing.
"My reason?" Krissie asked casually. "Well, dearie, it's always funny to see how bad you are all doing."
