{Emily: I'm typing this for her, since she's at my house, so I might occasionally comment.}
Name: Rachel Elliana Barret
Age: 13
Parents: Athena, Dan Barret, (foster mother)Grace Barret
Siblings: Savannah Barret(5), David Barret(5)
Appearance: Light curly brown hair, gray eyes, tall for her age, tan skin
Likes: Potatoes, her siblings, friends in mortal world{Skye Mason, Eloise Martinez}, demigod friends{Lorelei Smith, Luner Cult}, dad
Dislikes: Stepmother, bad grades, bad books, rotten potatoes{Emily: LOLOLOLOL}
History: Like most demigods, Rachel never knew her real mom until she arrived at Camp Half-blood. In fact, she always thought her stepmom was her real mom. So when she found out she wasn't, it was a pretty big relief for her. Of course, there was a reason for that.
Rachel was abused by her stepmom. The abuse started when she was 4. Up until 4, she lived alone with her dad in Massachusetts, and her life had been pretty happy. Then her dad decided that he was going to marry again, and he married Grace Johnson. From the second her dad stepped out of the house, Grace started hitting Rachel. Of course, at the time, Rachel thought it was a perfectly normal thing. {Emily: Fail... Rebecca: You know, I don't really appreciate you commenting.} The next year, when she was 5, Rachel started school. Right off the bat, she could tell she was different from everyone else. {Emily: Cheesy... Rebecca: Shut up!} Mainly because she was the only one in her Kindergarten class who could do Pre-algebra. Of course, she always got called names like 'teacher's pet' and got bullied. And whenever Rachel told the guidance counselor, and the guidance counselor talked to the bullies, they were like, 'Oh, Rachel's so smart, we would never bully her! Yada dada dadada!' {Emily: Seriously? Rebecca: Yes. Now shut up!}
Of course, the bullying and the abuse went on. So we can skip the next 7 years. {Emily: *sarcasm* Wow, so descriptive. Rebecca: Shut your face before I feed your guts to my cats! Emily: I can't believe I'm typing this. And YOU DON'T HAVE ANY CATS!! Rebecca: I will when I'm an old cat lady! Emily: ...}
By then, she was 12, and she knew what was happening, in general, was wrong. The only lights in her life were 2 things: potatoes{Emily: LOL I knew you were going to say that!} and her siblings. One, potatoes rule, duh. And please no commenting from you, Emily. Two, her siblings were just plain awesome. Don't ask how Grace was able to have offspring that were awesome, while she was a rhymes-with-witch. But she managed to pull it off. Maybe the awesomeness skipped a generation{Emily: xD}.
One day, while Rachel was walking home from school, it started pouring. She had a bunch of poetic thoughts, here's one of them: Each raindrop is a small part of a story, and they flow into a river. But there's a dam.{Emily: xD 'dam' Rebecca: YOU RUINED THE POETIC MOMENT!! I'M GETTING A CHAINSAW!!} Maybe one day the dam would overflow and become one big story. Maybe...{Emily: Weirdo.} Then, of course, when everything just seemed perfect, the worst thing had to happen because this is Rachel's life we're talking about.
Just then, a hydra materialized out of thin air. Of course back then, Rachel didn't know how to fight, so she just followed her natural instincts: brace herself and wait for the pain. But then the pain never came...
She opened her eyes to see her friend Eloise lying her front of her, dead. {Emily: Wow. Real blunt.} The hydra spared Rachel, but took Eloise instead. Rachel ran as far away as she could from the scene of the crime. She ran and hid for about a year, traveling from Massachusetts to New York. When she got there, a satyr found her and took her to Camp Half-blood. You might be thinking, yay, we're done! Not exactly.
For a while, Rachel relaxed and her life was happy. She made friends and all that kind of crap{Emily: (Lorelei: I'm so honored.)} Then the war started, and Rachel lost her closest half-sibling, Ivy Meer. Then Rachel started panicking, Are my siblings still alive? Are they dead? If they're dead, it might have been by my stepmom's hand. If I had been there to take it for them... Then her world started crumbling. Her friend Lorelei left, and still, the battle raged on, and Rachel doesn't know how much longer she can hold on...
