The New Guy

(Ah, let's just say this was before the final battle. That you should join.)

Terry knocked on the door. Having a case of ADD didn't help his patience, so he opened the door without waiting. "Hey, Colton? I'm gonna need the-" He stopped his jubilant entrance at the sight of the new kid. He grinned a greeting."Well hi there! I'm Terry. Welcome to camp, I guess. Name?" He stuck out a hand to shake.

Terry had noticed the nnoyance in the bot's eyes. This one wasn't a friendly one. He pulled back his awkward had that hadn't earned the shake it deserved. He gave him his sunny smile nonetheless. "Minerva. I'm a Roman."

Terry knew from his reply that Chiron hadn't told him. It was unpleasant to greet a new camper with such an indecent topic, after all. He scratched his head nervously, trying to think of a way to tell him. He had set his mind on delivering the piece of news. Zeke deserved to know. "Um, you see, our camp kind of got...taken over. We're refugees, if you will. Us camps are in a war." The son of Minerva was slow to start, allowing the words to be clear. He tried to brighten the mood with another smile, 'You...kind of joined at a bad time."

"Nah." Terry shook his head, looking slightly nervous. "Well, it's the Earth. Gaea. She so powerful, and it seems like everyone has deserted or betrayed us. We're stuck in a tight spot, and she can pretty much destroy us anytime." It really did feel like that, and Terry couldn't sleep. He worried about camp and his friends. The fates were floating just by, waiting to sever their threads.

Zeke was about to reply when he was interrupted. Deciding against getting revenge against the interrupter, he simply said, "Hi," with a slight wave, not caring to finish it completely before letting his arm fall back down, crossing his arms and leaning against the wall behind at the back of the bed.

Figuring this girl wasn't about to leave, Zeke rose from his seat. "And you are...?" he asked, slightly offensively, but mostly curious. Know thine enemy. Zeke took that to the extreme. He wouldn't just get to know his enemies, but his friends, rivals, and anyone else around him. They were potential threats, in his eyes. He'd gone through too much over the last few years. He would have never even come to Camp had it not been for his last year on the road. The attacks grew in intensity. It was horrible. He barely survived. Still, he was here so he was going to make the best of it. He would live here, in caution. He would get to know everyone, their strengths... their weaknesses. Just in case. In case, one day, they would attack him. Just as everything in his life did.

"A person." Ari smirked, shrugging her shoulders. "As for you?" She raised an eyebrow. Ari based a lot on first impressions, and so far, she kinda liked the guy. Had a bit of an edge to him. They needed people like him around camp. Otherwise it would just be boring.

"Nice." Ari plopped down on a random bed. She then rolled her eyes, seeing the boy stand there. "Well, i'm Ari. Apollo cabin leader, and unofficial girlfriend of that lovable nerd over there's brother." She nodded in Terry's general direction. "I would add on to my life story by showing you something Apollo kids can do, but frankly, we can't really do anything."

Ari was stumped by that question. New campers always asked, but she never really had a good answer. Sure, they did other things except train all day. They weren't always legal, but they did things. "Erm, read?" She shrugged.
