WARNING: To all the faint hearted, please do not read. It isn't too sad, but I don't have a faint heart. Don't come crying to me after you read it. I warned you...
I was in my garden, planting grapes when I heard my mother scream my name in terror. I bolted up, and ran to the source of the sound. I gasped, then quickly saw what was holding her.
It was some sort of...Monster. It had the body of a Lion and the head of a woman. I remembered what this was..."Sphinx..." I breathed out, and it turned it's head towards me. I screamed as it launched at me. But for some reason, I wanted to fight. I grabbed a stick and started hitting the creature, with all my strength. It shied back, easily hurt.
Suddenly, a smell of grapes surrounded me, and I heard a few words, "Save your mother..." I took the voices advice, and ran to my mother. I heard the creature scream and looked back. It was surrounded in Grape vines, choking to death. I chuckled and looked at my mother again.
And that's when all of my happiness left me. There was a hole where her heart should have been, the size of a claw mark.
Tears streamed down my eyes.
"Mom, can you hear me??" I asked, knowing that it was hopeless. I cried so hard I didn't notice the Satyr that came up behind me. I looked at him with my violet eyes, and he shied away. But he soon came up and said, "We should get you to camp half blood." I screamed and tried to drag myself to my mother.
"I will NOT leave her!" I half screamed, half cried out. I looked at her one last time before I fainted, tears still streaming out of my eyes.
