Gail walked around the stables, looking at all the beautiful horses. She saw a black one, a pink one, a tortoiseshell one, a strange feathered one, and even a unicorn-pegasi. But, none of the above was the right one for Gail. 'The horse picks the owner,' her mother would have said. And it seemed true, none of the horses glanced at her; some of them glared at her. None of the horses would pick her. Just when all seemed lost, Gail came across a beautiful white female with emerald green mane and tail. She snickered and playfully stomped her bronze feet. This was the one. Gail pet her and the horse seemed to like her; seemed to like this girl with blue hair and a scard face. "I think I shall call you Emeralda, in honor of your beautiful emerald green mane and tail." Gail whispered in Emeralda's delicate ear. Emeralda snickered, she licked her name. Gail laughed. "C'mon. I'll take you for a test drive." she said, and winked at her new friend.

I landed on Lightning next to Gail. "Pretty good for our first day of training, huh?" Lightning whinnied in agreement.
