I looked at the climbing wall, at the lava spitting out, at the boulders crashing down. I put some sunglasses on to hide my violet eyes, since everyone often stared, and started to climb up. Lava burned my hand so badly I almost fell to the ground. But I am not that type of girl-I kept on going up. Soon, after what seemed to be hours, I reached the top, with burnt hands, and little pieces of rock in my hair. I shook it out and looked at the camp, eating a grape I had just grown from midair.

I glided silently on the air up to Amber. "Hey." I said behind her, happy that I had mastered my flying powers.

"Well . . ." I pondered for a moment, "Maybe we could ride our Pegasi."

"Okay." I whistled and Lightning came swooping down from the clouds.

I stared at a grapevine and Streak grew from one of the grapes, whinnying as he did so.

I leaned back, gaining power, then jumped onto Lightning.

Amber: She mounted Streak with a smile, and they took to the sky.

Lightning flew faster and caught up with Amber's pegasus, Streak and her neck-to-neck.

I shrugged. "Yeah. My dad's taking pity on us."

"No, he's your grandfather." I corrected.
