Why can't she remember?

Dakota sat on her bed, with her hair in a loose ponytail. She found some pictures under the bed, apparently they were Dakota's because nobody had decided to move them and they were almost all with Dakota. Dakota looked at one picture that had Dakota and Ari and they were both doing some kind of Egyptian dance. She smiled and turned to the next picture which was of Ari and her pretending to be mad at each other but it was so obvious it was fake because they both had smiles on their faces. Apparently Ari and her took a lot of pictures together. She turned to the next picture and it was a picture of Crystal, Summer, and Ari. She must have took this one. She flipped to the next, which was just Dakota and she was putting on makeup and her hand was in the way, clearly she didn't want to be taking a picture that time. She flipped to the next picture and it was another one of her and Ari. She felt her eyes growing wet and a tear slowly dropped on the photograph. All of these memories and she couldn't remember any of them. It just wasn't fair, who decided for her, that they could just erase her life? She threw the pictures across the room, making them all go on the floor in the Aphrodite cabin, and she started to sob into her pillow.
