"Hey! I said enough!" Terry grabbed Jacob by the shoulder, pulling him back. "Stop it!" There wasn't supposed to be fighting at a party, and it was attracting attention.
It was rare to see an Athena kid loose his cool and stop thinking of his actions. The consequences here could be bad...

Jacob jerked away from Terry. "Fine," he said. He walked to Ryder calmly. He grabbed his arm and sqeezed. "Listen, and listen closley," Jacob said. "If I hear this ever happens again, your life will be a living Underworld. Worse then I'm going to make it now. If you touch her again, you won't be so lucky." Jacob roughly let go of his arm, dropping him on to the ground.

Emmy stopped short and scowled when Ryder punched Ari. As much as she hated Greeks, she hated bullies even more. She stormed up to Ryder. "I know I barely know you people but that really wasn't acceptable," she growled, her red eyes flashing dangerously.

Emmy growled an insult under her breath and the shadows next to Ryder thickened. The murky darkness started groping for Ryder's neck.
(Yeesh. I would just smack him across the face if this was real life, and then beat him up.)

Jacob was with Ari and tried to comfort her. He set her down and stood up to Ryder next to Emmy. "I've been trying to keep this a secret," he said. He closed his eyes. Tendrills came from the ground resembeling shadows. They were grey and looked like clay. They wrapped around Ryder's wrists and ankles. One tendril wrapped around his neck. "I call it the Grae Arua."
