Jasper fiddled with his Winchester boot knife. A quick memory of the battle flashed by his eyes. Jasper had nothing to do for the day, so figured he'd do something he hadent ever: Relax. His mother kept pushing him to use knifes and make things, until her bloody murder. Jasper continued to walk along the camp boundry, but stopped and stared out. The meadow and the beauty stretched on for miles, and the wind played with his hair. He stood and stared, but his guard still up, if such anyone were to sneak attack.

I tapped his shoulder from behind. I had gotten here earlier when I saw Ivy dying on the border. "Jasper." My voice was empty, though my eyes showed everything. I didn't want to kill him, but couldn't disobey Gaia.

Shade watched from the shadows of a bush. He had followed Lorelei from the hill. He had found Ivy dead from a hellhound attack with her beside her. So he had shadow traveled Ivy back to camp with Terry. Then he had come back, following her.
What was Lorelei doing here? She was on Gaea's side. He narrowed his eyes. And why was Jasper talking to her in a familiar way? Was Jasper also Gaea?

Shade stepped from behind the trees. His hazel eyes were dark.
"So you came here to kill one of the campers. I don't care if Jasper's okay with it, but I'm not letting Gaea's soldiers kill anymore of us. Can't you just say you were going to kill him but I stopped you?"

My eyes darkened at that. "No, Gaia didn't make the darkness."
But Shade was partially right. It wasn't worth killing Jasper. I put my knife away and sighed. I sat on a large boulder. "I can't do it. I quit being in your army." I said out loud. It seemed like I was talking to no one, but I could hear Gaia screaming in my head.

Jasper turned to look at shade. Thank god, he wasn't going to die, but if Lorelei didn't kill him, what would Gaia do? " Then you've made the right decision."
