Eventually, we made it to camp. I ignored the stares and whispers as I dragged him to the Infirmary. As we entered, an Apollo kid hurried over to take Shade to a bed. I stayed close behind them. I watched from the side as they started healing him.

Shade winced as he was set down on the bed. He would be fine. But it didn't change the fact that the process of healing his side hurt. He closed his eyes to ignore it and get some rest...

After a while, the Apollo kid grunted in satisfaction. "He should be fine. He just needs rest."
I nodded. "Thank you." I took a chair next to Shade's bed.

Shade opened his eyes, turning his head. Oh yeah. He was in the infirmary. Wait...what? Why? He remembered the chimeras and Caroline. He jerked suddenly. He sat up quickly and winced. His side hurt a little. But he didn't care. Where was Caroline? Did she get hurt? He saw that she was sitting right next to him, looking unharmed. So he let out a little sigh of relief.

I almost jumped up in surprise as Shade suddenly sat up. I had thought he was sleeping. "Are you feeling better?"

Shade looked at Caroline in surprise. He nodded.
"Yeah..I guess..."
He was just glad she didn't get hurt. The Apollo kid did a good job. He put his hand to his bandaged side. It was almost healed, he could feel it.

"I'm fine now. This isn't a problem. I've got some new problems to deal with."

Shade sat back in his bed.
"I'll wait for dinner time."
He wanted time to think about his lost powers.
