Shade looked at Caroline for a while before smiling. He pulled back his hand and continued walking with her.
"You had such a faraway look."

"Yeah...not trying to sound like Terry, even though there's nothing wrong with that, but I liked the landmarks better." I glanced at the Eiffel tower in the distance again.

Shade had expected her not to be the shopping type. He followed her gaze to the Eiffel tower.
"Then I'll take you there now. We can go now."
Shade grabbed her hand suddenly and pulled her into an alley. It was plenty dark enough for shadow travel. He looked at the distance to the tower. It didn't matter. He had been slowly gaining control over his powers through training.

"You're going to shadow travel us there?" I asked, noticing where we were. "Don't burn yourself out," I warned him softly.

"I'll be fine.."
Shade replied with a small hint of doubt in his voice. He looked at the tower and grabbed her hand. He closed his eyes and the shadow swallowed them up.

Shadow-traveling was weird, but awesome. Everything was a dark blur. The only thing that kept me anchored to reality was Shade's hand holding mine. I gripped his hand tightly, afraid to let go.

(sorry, i was finishing my chinese summer packet...)
They shot out of a shadow by the Eiffel tower. Shade leaned against the wall, catching his breath. He smiled at Caroline.
"We're here."

"Are you feeling alright?"
Shade asked her. She didn't seem to like the feeling of shadow traveling. It was convenient and actually kind of fun for him. He wasn't so ecstatic about using it though because of his lack of power control currently.

I nodded. "Yeah, I'm fine. But shadow-traveling scares me a little." I gave a small shaky laugh. "It's like you're lost in somewhere, like in the in-between stage of the world, and going to the Underworld."

Well, it did scare most people. The fact that it was dark and empty was the scary part. The fast travel made some sick. Shade never felt that way about shadow travel.
"Well, that's good, I guess."
He was slightly dizzy. Better than before. If it was before, he would have probably passed out for a while.

I nodded. "Yeah..."
I glanced up at the Eiffel Tower. It looked so big up close. "I'm glad this place has an elevator."

Shade pushed off the wall he had been leaning on for support. He stood still for a while to clear the dizzyness.

Shade replied with a small smile. It was hard not to smile with Caroline being so cheerful. He pontes over at the elevators.
"Let's go."

I nodded and took his hand as we walked over to the elevators. I pushed the up button and waited for the doors to open.

The elevator let out a ding! Shade walked in as the doors slid open. As they rode their way to the top, Shade closed his eyes. He wasn't a big fan of heights. But he wasn't scared. Just scared of Zeus.

Just then, the elevator doors opened with a ding! I glanced up excitedly. "We're here! I can't believe we're actually at the Eiffel Tower!"
