Ace was in the dark. It was so empty and void of light that he couldn't see anything. He was beginning to lose feeling, even. There was no sound. There was nothing to hear. It almost made him feel like he was in a senseless world. Maybe that was a good thing. He was supposed to be dead. He wanted to be dead. It was best for everyone that he was.
The crack that opened in the wall that he didn't know existed made him flinch. The light that poured in was barely a pinprick. A perfect pinpoint of light. Barely enough, but it was so dark, the light was the only thing to see. Ace could feel himself move forward. He didn't see himself move forward. No, it was too dark for that. Wasn't he dead? Was he going to the Underworld? No, he heard voices. That shouldn't be right. He should be dead....
Ace made a tentative step forward and the light grew in brightness. He reached out with a hand, finally being able to see it. You're nothing but a pawn. To be controlled by others is your destiny. You're arrogant for thinking you would be able to bond and make friends. Now your friends can hate you. You don't have a future going out there. Go if you are ready to face your road. You're a tool to be used. And nothing else.
Ace jolted awake, sharp green eyes flaring in surprise as he opened them. He found himself unable to move. His right arm and legs were strapped by bond to the bed so he couldn't move. His broken arm had been put in a cast. The sling he had been given was useless. He had just been given it because it was cheaper, apparently. Voices flooded into his mind, and the bright light stung at his eyes. The infirmary. He recognized it.
Ace hadn't died. He had lived. How? Wasn't his sword through his side? Wasn't he bleeding to death? But nothing hurt except for his broken arm. Adding on the fact that he was out of energy and exhausted. He was weak from blood loss and using his powers. He turned his head and spotted the calendar. It had been two days since that incident. So he had been out for two days.
Ace's green eyes were dull as he stared at the ceiling. He shouldn't be here. Even if he was, what good would it do? What were they going to do to him? He heard some Ares kids walk by and snicker. Told you we couldn't trust him. He should have died.

Summer~
I walked into the Infirmary, anxiously looking around for Ace's bed. I spotted him, and hurried over, nearly making an Apollo kid spill some nectar. "Sorry, sorry!" I muttered as I hurried past campers who were giving me annoyed looks.
I stood next to his bed, looking down at him. "Hey," I said softly, my eyes gentle. "You feeling any better?"

Ace heard Summer. He didn't need to see her to know she was coming here. His dull green eyes were emotionless.
"...." Ace didn't know if he was feeling better. He felt like he was feeling worse, in a matter of fact. He should have died.... "How did I live?" His voice was raspy and barely above a whisper. His expression was blank and defeated. The question was a sudden one too...

Summer~ "Well-" My breath caught in my throat as the memories came back to me, crystal clear. When I spoke again, my voice barely above a whisper, but didn't doubt that he could hear it, since he was only a foot away. "Gaea saved you."

At that, Ace couldn't take it anymore. He was just a pawn. Gaea had saved him just for him to bee used again. He was a tool that was worn out. But Gaea didn't have any intention of stopping to use him. She was going to wear him down until he broke. Then she would throw him away like trash.
Ace suddenly began straining against the bonds holding him down. "Let me up. Let me go! Why am I in the infirmary. Just kill me already. I'm a spy of Gaea. Wouldn't that suit you guys so well if I died?"

Summer~ "Hey, stop," I commanded, putting a light hand on his shoulder. "We may be suspicious, but we're not killers." I winced at that, then said, "Most of us aren't. We won't turn away any demigod that needs medical help, even if Gaea already mostly healed you. And you'll stay here until you fully recover and stop struggling, whether you like it or not," I added the last part, hoping it sounded forceful and firm.

"I don't need medical help!" Ace only struggled more. Shoot, these restrainers were firm. Well, they were called restrainers for a reason.
Ace gave up in frustration. He was panting from the effort. His arms would probably be red from all the jerking. He closed his spring green eyes. His expression was one of a person that had already given up. He just wanted it to end already, in other words. Why wouldn't they let him? He wasn't important? A lot of people agreed.
The Ares kid at the arena. Dirt like you belongs on the floor like your mother. Do die!

Summer~ My eyes darkened sightly, but I kept my voice light. "Hey, don't say that!" I chided him. "You can change. Maybe you can help Gaea in a way that you're not hurting us?" It was too much to hope for, so I just sighed. "As ling as you're here, we won't let you kill yourself." I hope that didn't give him an idea. I really didn't know why someone might want to commit suicide anyway...

Ace gritted his teeth. "Yeah, thats totally an option here. Find a loophole on a deal made on the River Styx." It was impossible to find a loophole. What exactly happened to you when you broke a promise on the River Styx? Then he heard the rest of her words.
That's exactly what he wanted, actually. To kill himself. Ace felt like yelling in frustration. He controlled his voice even thought it wavered a bit. "So what now? I'm a prisoner?"

Summer~ I grimaced. "Yeah, I guess so. Well, it gives you an excuse do not harm us..." I suggested. It was a weak attempt. I sighed. It stunk to be a prisoner. That's what everyday felt like here. I guessed that this was how Ace had felt like when the camp first took him in. Some of the people here would probably never trust me, or forgive me for killing some of their half brothers and sisters.

Summer~ I grimaced. "Yeah, I guess so. And maybe being prisoner here might be a good thing...you could say you couldn't do anything because we were watching you...?" It was a lame attempt. It must stink to be prisoner. That's what everyday felt like at camp. Some of the campers would probably never forgive me for killing their siblings. And I dont blame them. I realized that this is what Ace probably felt like when he first joined the camps.

(Hi ppls! I'm getting on, then off very quickly. I think I'll do that everyday now.)
Terry appeared behind Summer. He pushed his glasses up. His stormy gray eyes were trained forlornly on Ace. this was all his fault. If he told him now, it wouldn't do him any good. It would probably only increase the stress and pressure cast upon him already.
"They told me everything. The Big House has given some pretty nasty orders. I argued for them to change it, but..." Terry trailed off at the end. He took a breath before continuing. "Your weapon will be taken. We will have two people watch over you in a separate cabin." Terry knew he wasn't going anywhere anyway.

(Hi Terry!)
Summer~ I whirled around at the sound of Terry's voice behind me. Where had he come from? Who knows? Pushing the thought away, I listened. I frowned at his words.
"What if someone tries to kill him while he's weaponless?" Ace still had his powers, but I didn't know if he would use them.

Ace found himself flinching unexpectedly at Terry's appearance. His green eyes avoided his. He knew that Terry was probably thinking and worrying for him. He didn't want it.
Ace heard Summer voice her worries. "Then all the better." His quiet opinion was clear and made it to their ears despite being quiet.

I flinched, but otherwise ignored him. "We have to do something, Terry." I glanced helplessly down at Ace. "Even if it means helping him escape."

It was sudden, like a balloon popping. He just lost his temper right there. "I don't need help! Why do you all want to help me? I've done nothing good for you all. So just end it already!" At his yell of frustration, the ground around Camp Half Blood gave one violent shake before stopping. Ace paused in surprise. That was his first time to lose his cool. And he didn't know that that was what happened when he did. He looked at the surprised demigods and some broken vases. Probably some kids in the arena stuck themselves through with a sword when they fell, who knew. "See? I'm just a bane to you guys..."

I let out a surprised yelp as the ground shook, then everything was still again. I sighed. "Ace, you need to calm down. And even if all you did was cause us harm, we'll still give you a second chance." Some campers nearby snorted, and I shot them a glare. One sneered, "You're in no position to start threatening people." I ignored him, but it was true. I hadn't even earned most of their trusts yet...

"You don't get it! I'm a prisoner, not a camper! I can't rejoin you guys no matter how much I want to. I can never leave my mother's side because of the deal." Ace closes his eyes, trying to do as Summer says and calm down.
But it's hard, with other demigods snickering and staring. The fact that Summer didn't have everyone's trust yet was also evident. At least she wasn't pounded like he had been. Then again, she would have fought back if they did try to do something like that to her.

Summer~ I winced. Because of the deal. Because of me, he was an outsider in both Gara's army, and at the camps. "No, but you can come close to it."
