Caroline laughed softly at Alex's exclamation. "Well, yeah, you are. Just don't go too fast and you'll be fine. Or too slow." Or the lava will catch up to you. But, of course, she didn't say that out loud.

"Yep, we've been having a lot of traitors and spies lately."
Shade let out an exasperated sigh.
"But we got some campers back and planted some of our own spies there."
He remembered Izumi and felt a little sick. He pushed that thought away.
"But now that I think of it, we haven't heard from them. I wonder how Tai's doing."

Caroline blinked at Shade's words. The memory of Jade's death was etched into her mind. But she was glad that it had been her instead of Shade.
"We've been at the Greek camp...for a couple of months now."

"Was it hard getting kicked out of the Roman demigod camp? I just came here, because I tried to go to the one you guys were originally in. I couldn't get even close. So I came here." Said Alex.

Caroline frowned. "Well, yeah, it was kind of hard leaving the camp behind, since that was the place that I had met lots of other campers." She glanced over at Shade and smiled at him before turning her attention back on Alex.

Shade nodded in agreement with Caroline. He had so many memories left there. Where he had gotten Dodge's letter and met Terry. His first time at the lake when he had just arrived with Caroline. Sitting and reading with Emmy in the quiet Pluto cabin....

Caroline wondered what the camp looked like now, but remembering wasn't going to let them go back.

Shade replied to Alex's question. He grinned at Caroline. She was going to be the same age as him soon.

"So if we went to school, it would be almost nearing the second month of the school year," Caroline remarked wistfully. She missed the days when she could just go to school like a normal kid, and not having to worry about fighting monsters, and all that. But she would never regret coming to camp.

Shade thoughtfully said out loud. He leaned back. Or, at least he didn't think he had...Shade had...memory problems. He couldn't remember his childhood. If he tried, something would block him and give him an insane headache and lots of confusion.

"Oh, yeah." Caroline remembered their conversation on the night of the prom. She felt sorry for him, not being able to remember his past.
"Really? I had just started high school...and I just...appeared at the camp." Caroline frowned at the memory. She still wasn't completely sure what had happened, but she suspected that it had been Neptune's doing.

"Just appeared at camp. That's an odd way to arrive. Glad you made it though."
Shade grinned at Caroline. e looked back at Alex for a long moment and decided to just shrug. Only Terry and Caroline knew that he was missing his memory. He didn't mind. But he didn't want to go announcing it either.
