Caroline smiled. "Yes, it was. Thanks." It had been so weird... Everything had turned black, then when she opened her eyes again, she had been at the camp...
She shifted her thoughts to Alex and Shade again.

Shade shook his head.
"Your memories are your memmories. I still have my memories, but they're being blocked. As long as you don't forget yourself, you'll remember."

"Nope."
Shade shook his head and tapped the side of his head. He had a sad smile.
"All my memories before I came to camp are fake. They're replaced, made, in other words. I can't remember what really happened. But after I got to camp, every memory is very much real. I got to camp as normal as a demigod chased by monsters could get."

Shade paused, not wanting to continue with a such a conversation anymore. He looked uneasily at Caroline for a moment and sighed. He turned back to Alex, a sad look in his eyes dispute his tiny nervous smile.
"My father."

This conversation was getting personal. Caroline noticed Shade looking nervous, and quickly cut into their conversation. "So Alex, have you met any gods or goddesses in person before?"

Shade let out a small breath of relief and sent a silent look of thanks towards Caroline. He didn't like talking about himself at all.

"Well, she is new to the demigod stuff."
Shade said with his quiet voice. She would need training b erode she even tried taking anyone on in Gaea.

"Yeah..." Alex would need training, and hopefully they would have enough time before Gaea's next attack.
Caroline absentmindedly glanced around the room, checking the time on the coral clock on the wall. Almost lunchtime. but they still had a few minutes.

"Well, it's almost time for lunch, I'm going to go back to my cabin to get someof my stuff."
Shade stood up and pushed his chair back againt the wall where it was. He walked over and put a gentle hand on Caroline's head.

Caroline looked up at him as he put a hand on her head, not able to hold back a smile, blushing. She didn't know what Alex thought of this.

Shade told both of them. Then he shadow traveled out back to his cabin. He landed on his bed with a sigh, then stared at the ceiling.

Caroline gave a wave before he disappeared. She turned back to Alex, smiling. "Are you ready? We can go now, if you want."

Alex stared where Shade dissapeared, with wide gawking eyes." He, he, he. What, oh yeah. Lets go." Alex never saw anything like that.

Caroline smiled in amusement at Alex's reaction. "He shadow traveled. Children of Pluto and Hades have that power." Caroline didn't really like the feeling of shadow traveling. Shade had taken her along a few times when he had shadow traveled. She didn't like the cold, chilling feeling. It was definitely exciting, but it was kind of scary.
Caroline stood up from the chair. "Do you know where it is yet? The mess hall, I mean."
