Everyone has their important things. Colton didn't know how to explain that feeling, but he could see it in their eyes and actions. Everything someone did spoke it out loud. Very clearly. What that person valued most, that is. Colton had no goals, no values, nothing of importance.
People say you had to have a goal. You had to have determination. You had to value that goal. You needed to do all those things to grow strong. To drive forward. Colton, however, had no desire for anything, no goals. He did not value family, he had none. His father was death itself. The only glimpse he would ever catch of him was in his death. He did not value honesty. He had grown a master of lies and fake expressions. You were never truthful to anyone, or they would eventually betray you. He did not value friendship, he had none. Losing a friend was not a con in his point of view. He did not value determination. Reach up to grab for the moon, and you will lose your footing and come crashing down.
This did not mean Colton was lazy. Many thought that if you had no goal in life, nothing made you feel alive. What was the proof that he was alive? It was really simple.
Colton fought. He killed many monsters in his time as a lone demigod wandering around. That very feeling of rushing around in a battle, slashing out in a whirlwind of metal was enough proof to him that he was alive. The adrenaline he got, the feeling of victory, everything, really, was proof that he was still here. So he clung on to this impotent value of his. Himself. His own survival.
Colton was laying in a field again, by the edge of the lake. He did this often, laying on a field and staring up at the clouds. He reached for his sword that was always beside him. He slid it slowly out of the sheathe. He held it out above him. He studied the fine and sharp edge. It's cold and black aura contrasted against the sky and the puffy clouds...

Terry was taking a walk around the edge of the lake. He looked up to see a figure in black laying down and staring up at the clouds. One more small detail. There was a glint of metal. Terry recognized the object as a sword. How odd. He hadn't seen the boy before. He had to be new.
Terry, being the cheerful and friendly kind, walked up to Colton. He sat down next to him. This boy was tall. His hair was black. Terry tilted his head with a smile. "Hi, my name's Terry. Terry Coleman. Son of Minerva. You're new, right? What's your name?"

Colton looked over at the sound of footsteps. Like his first day here with Willow, he didn't get up. He just smiled his fake smile and nodded, "Yup, I'm new. Colton White, Thanatos."
He put down his sword to the side. Colton studied Terry who had taken a seat beside him. A Minerva kid. That was Athena in Roman form. There seemed to be a lot of Roman kids running around in a Greek camp. Looks like they were in trouble. If both camp's had combined, and they were still struggling, how did they hope to win? He had been wanting to say this for some time now. "This camp, I don't think it's going to survive."

Terry blinked at the introduction. A son of the Greek god of death. How creepy. He was about to say something more to break the pause in between, but then Colton commented on the camp's situation. The comment caght Terry by surprise. So he had noticed. It was true no matter how you looked at it. But Terry wasn't going to give up just because their chances of victory were slim. This camp was important to him. His friends were important to him.
"We will still fight. You don't know if you don't try." Terry replied.

"I think you all are fools." Colton rubbed his head and finally sat up. His sharp blue eyes were annoyed. This kind of logic he didn't like. Staying to suicide for a camp. Was it really that important? "If you stay here, it's nothing but a sacrifice. Obviously you're going to lose. So why don't all of you just leave here and join Gaea? It'll be much easier. You'll all still be together."

Terry's smoky gray eyes widened slightly a degree. Colton's words hit him like needles. They stung. It was a shock that such words could come from such a kid that was smiling and looking at him calmly. "What..did you just say?"
He was a angry now. Who did this kid think he was? "This camp is our home! And our graves! So be it if we have to die here! We stay here together. I'm not working with someone who has killed so many of my friends!"

"That's what I'm saying. You're being stubborn. You just want to die here for nothing." Colton stood up and patted the grass of himself. "You're just selfish because Gaea killed some of your friends. You really just don't want to go to admit defeat. You hate to lose. You're just using "fighting by your friends" as an excuse to stubbornly stay here because of a simple grudge."
Colton's words were incredibly harsh behind his smile. But once he had started saying what he thought, he couldn't STOL his opinion from being heard. Even if it was someone as loyal as Terry. "That's why you're a fool."

Terry hated those words. He wanted Colton to shut up. He wanted to stand up and punch the kid to the ground. But those words brought a bit of horror to him. Was it really just because he was stubborn? NO! They fought for each other! This camp was important to them! That's why they fought! He wasn't going to let him insult them!
The next action was immature, but Colton had made him furious. Terry stood up, his stormy gray eyes crackling with anger. "You...!!" He grabbed him by the front of his shirt. "Don't insult my friends!"

Colton stared with his bright blue eyes into Terry's cloudy gray ones. He was silent for a while, then his face so read into a grin. His eyes were deadly. He really was the kind type that stuck up for his friends. He hated these types of people!
Instead of replying, Colton brought his knee up with a crushing force aimed at Terry's stomach. "Don't touch me, Mr. Know-it-all."
(lol, this is getting interesting. Hope you don't mind, my character's a jerk.)

(Nah, I don't mind cuz it is interesting.)
Terry blinked at the sudden movement he caught with his dark gray eyes. He move a little to the side, but wasn't fast enough. He didn't have time to react as his knee slammed into his side. He coughed in pain and dropped to his knees clutching his throbbing side. The jerk had actually...

Colton stared down at Terry. His smile was gone now. He hated it when people even layer a finger on him. In his point of view, Terry had deserved it. The fools had to continue being fools. "You're still a fool. This camp is done for."

"Shut up..." Terry muttered from his position. He stood up suddenly, swinging out at Colton with a fist. "It's okay to insult me, but don't insult my friends! They work hard to support this camp! This is where we will live and die! We're not leaving! So don't say we're fools!"

My, he got offended real fast when it was about friends... Colton grinned at the thought. He really hated this type of person. maybe he could pound him, then say it was for self defense. He dodge the fist, which he was expecting. He stuck his hand's into his pockets and forced a roundhouse kick straight at his chest. Colton had been stuck in many tight situations, and had learned martial arts so he could fight without a sword.

Terry blinked and barely had time to summon his staff. The kick caught the middle of the pole forcefully. Terry was sent flying backwards at the force. What the heck? Was this guy one of those karate freaks? He sat up with a wince and looked at Colton with a glare.

Caroline needed to see the lake again. The calm surface eased her anxiety for what was happening to the camps. She was sure that the final battle was coming soon...and with it, the fall of the camps. No. She couldn't believe that. If they had hope, anything was possible...right?
It did not help the day as she walked over on Terry and some kid fighting. The kid aimed a kick at Terry, and it sent him flying back. "Terry!!" Caroline raced to his side. "Are you okay?" She swung her head around to glare at the kid. Who did he think he was, going around attacking campers?

"Agh...ow..." Terry muttered and turned from his sitting position to see Caroline run up. "Yeah...I guess. His kicks just really pack a punch..." He stood up with a small stretch, glaring at Colton with his stormy gray eyes. The staff in his hands shimmered and disappeared.

When Terry had replied that he was okay, Caroline turned to face the boy completely. "What were you doing? Who are you? Why did you attack Terry?" She shot the questions at him like a machine gun. She had a habit of doing that.

Colton straightened up, looking on in amusement as a girl ran up to help Terry. This must be one of his friends. "Colton White, son of Thanatos. New camper, former rogue demigod." he answered her questions easily with that devious smile of his. He looked over at Terry. "I was fighting he, of course, because he attacked first. So who are you? His girlfriend?" That was another amazingly annoying characteristic he had. He was always mocking. He was quite the dislikable person.

Former rogue demigod? Like Terra had been? Caroline blinked in surprise at his next words. Terry had attacked first? She glanced over at the son of Minerva, then back at Colton. Tis kid must have really pissed Terry off for him to attack first...
Caroline blushed fiercely as Colton continued, feeling a twinge of anger. What the hell was wrong with this kid? "No, I am not! We're friends." She wanted to attack him herself now.

"Huh, shame. You're turning as red as a tomato, though. Hey! That rhymes!" Colton grinned at his comments, noticing Caroline's discomfort, which he found amusing. Young kids these days.
