Terry shook his head. "I only have my two brothers."
He continued with the story. "Pluto wasn't happy that his request was refused. So he sent Thanatos to 'convince' my brother in the middle of the night."

Zack frowned "Who's Thatalos?" wow he felt lost. Then again he had been lost ever since he stepped into California soil.

His eyes darkened behind his glasses. "The god of Death. No. He is Death. The Fates cut the strings of whoever he finds fit to kill. If his scythe as much as touches you, your string is severed."
"Dodge didn't know it, but Kevin, my little brother was following him. When my brother again refused Thanatos, he tried to kill Dodge. But Kevin protected him. And he died." Terry's voice was bitter. He almost laughed at the irony. Killed by death.

Zack blinked. That was strangely intense. How could anyone do what the smallest child do and stand up to death? And who was cruel enough to kill his brave spirit? "Ouch..." the only word he could say, pathetic.

Terry nodded. He looked down. "I found a letter on the door saying that Dodge and Kevin had left the house and were at the park. Thanatos must have planted it."
The next part was what he cursed in all his life. He had not kept a belief in Dodge. His own brother. "Thanatos told Dodge he would kill me if he didn't follow Pluto's orders. So Dodge finally agreed. When I got to the park, Dodge attacked me, telling me he was the one who killed Kevin. He knocked me out and went with Thanatos to take care of Shade. And when I woke up, I was alone. And I wanted to kill Dodge."

"Pluto erased Shade's memory, replacing it with a memory that made him think he had lived with my brother all his life. I lived in alone, my mother giving me a secret hideout at the edge of the woods. Everyday there would be food. I was thankful for my mother. When I recuperated three year later, I cam to this camp. Dodge lived decieving Shade for three years, and he couldn't take it. So he gave Shade directions to this camp. Then my brother handed himself over to death." Terry finished the story.

Zack leaned back "That's horrible..." he muttered. Sadder than how his sister died. And that to Zack was something.

Terry turned his head to smile at Zack. "It's nothing. I promised myself that I wouldn't be sad over them anymore. If they're watching me, I want them to know I'm happy, and I'm grateful to their sacrifices." His smile was obviously forced. It was hard trying to act cheerful all the time.
