Jacob had set up a tent by the Wolf House. He was ready to pass out on the musty mattress for the night, when he knew couldn't. To much going on. It wasn't worth trying. But he wanted to talk to Athena.
Athena, Jacob said. Mom, I don't know if you can hear me. But I want you to know I'm sorry. I know what I'm doing is wrong. If I could take it back, I would. But I have to go through with it for the sake of Mikayla. I made a promise. I will not let her get hurt. Jacob sighed.

I was walking to my tent when I saw Jacob's outline in his tent. I smiled and walked over. "Hey, you there?"

Summer:
I grinned, some of the old Summer coming back in the movement. "Good to see you again, Jacob. I'm glad you've made the right choice by joining the winning side. Those weak fools won't stand a chance." (She and Krissie don't know about the two camps trying to team up.) I laughed harshly, but my expression wavered. This mean, new person wasn't me. I thought to camp again. All my other friends...Ari, Ally, Dawn, Fern, and many more...but most importantly, Courtland. I wonder how he was doing now without me? Perhaps he found someone new? A tear appeared in the corner of my eye. I pushed the thought away. It doesn't matter now, I told myself. That didnt stop the tear from rolling down my face. I turned away so Jacob wouldn't see. Serving Gaia is all you should be worried about, I said. I was trying to convince myself. It was important to stay loyal to my decision. After all, I had left camp when I had made the sacrifice.

Jacob was a little shocked that the real Summer had peeked through. That's what he wants. He wants everyone and everything back to normal. Summer was strong, but there were moments of weakness. Those moments assured him that there was hope. He held onto Summer's shoulder. He wiped away her tear with his thumb. "I never wanted this. It's for my sister." He sighed. "Will Gaia let me see her?"

I froze when he touched me and almost pushed him away. I regained my calm expression and tried to answer truthfully. "Yes, I believe so. Gaia is a fair goddess."

Krissie walked through the back grassy grounds of the demolished Wolf House. She noticed Summer talking to Jacob. Her expression hardened. As long as Summer doesn't tell him anything important...we don't know if he can be trusted. Krissie walked over to check on them. "What are you two talking about?" she asked, her voice stiff and emotionless.

"Does that mean you're afraid? You're worried what you'll find inside." Jacob sighed as he layed down. He even worried that Summer would slit his throat in this prone postion. "I am so sorry if I hurt your feelings, but I just wanted to know." Jacob looked up to the girl in front of them. "Crystal-" Jacob cut himself off emidiatley. "I'm s-sorry. I m-mean K-Krissie..."
