Krissie heard the sound of a person running, and then turned just in time to see Summer skid up next to Caroline and Shade. She frowned slightly. But all she said was "Summer" coolly.

Summer met Krissie's gaze calmly, but inside, she was scared. What would happen...? Would they have to fight? She blinked, and her eyes hardened.

Krissie crossed her arms. You could cut the tension with a knif-okay, that line is just way too overused. Anyway. Basically it was really tense. Krissie was halfwondering why no one had attacked yet. Finally she said, rather sardonically, "Too weak to fight us off?"

He blinked at Krissie's words, turning to protest. He didn't come here to fight. But wait, why didn't he want to fight them? It would be good for his mother to kill these people. He stood in silence. He would let Krissie do the talking.

Shade's swords appeared floating around him. The dual swords in his sheathes. He slid them out and the sheathes smoked away. The blades lit up with a black flame. His eyes reflected the flickering flames.
"Of course not."
He replied to Krissie.

Caroline gently touched Shade's arm in warning. "Don't. They're not worth it." If this led to a fight, she didn't doubt that more people would get involved and more people hurt.

For some reason, that made him pretty annoyed. He waved an arm at Krissie, a movement that meant he agreed that they could fight if they wanted to. He would rather enjoy it.

Shade stepped back at Caroline's words. He tensed at the other kid's hand motion. Something was off about that kid.
"And who are you? A mute?"

At the signal, Caroline glared at the guy. "Who are you, anyway?" she demanded. "And what are you guys even doing here?" she tried again.

He blinked at their questions. What would he say? He was glad actually that they didn't have to fight, actually. He would have to take out the ace card to summon his sword, and he couldnt use his powers without giving anything away. And if he talked, would they remember his voice? He finally relented and spoke.
"Not mute." the gentle voice of Ace. It passed very quickly and his words were short with a heat behind them Ace didn't have. He was more deliberate.

Caroline blinked and looked up at him in shock. His voice...she had heard that somewhere before. His voice was so familiar...and yet, she couldn't name it. But it also had a roughness to it... She pushed the thought away. "Well, what are you doing here, then?"

Shade narrowed his eyes, not lowering his sword. He stared at the kid in the mask. Definitely. He had heard his voice before. So who was it?

"....." He fingered his mask with a blink. He wasn't so sure how to answer. "You don't need to know who I am." This was starting to get uncomfortable to him.

Shade said. He narrowed his eyes. Without warning, he flashed out his short sword, hurling it at his mask. Maybe it would break.

He hadn't expected that. The sudden action took him by surprise. He had really let his guard down. He dove to the side as the sword sliced the edge of his mask. His eyes widened and he grabbed his mask. A crack had gone through half of it, but it hadn't split....good. He kept a hand on the mask to keep it from splitting farther. He gritted his teeth. "I thought you didnt want to fight."

Shade was pretty curious now. He was very positive he knew that voice very well. Wherever he had heard it before, it was very similar to someone he knew well. It sounded like someone he knew...but only resembled it. He didn't know anyone with such a spiteful tone in his voice. It was a bitter and spiteful tone.

That is none of your business." He replied with a stubborn note in his angered voice. He let go os his mask. At least it would hold for now. The bottom was splitting. He scowled from behind the mask.

Caroline watched in astonishment. Shade had actually attacked someone's...mask. But she was pretty curious too. Why did this person want to hide his identity so badly? "Then why don't you just take off your mask already?"
