The time she fell off her Pegasus...Crystal had laughed, but another camper...who was it...Dawn, had asked her, "You okay?" Except it wasn't her voice. Summer frowned. What... She realized that she had been daydreaming, and immediately shook her head, snapping out of it. She glanced up to see Shade looking at her expectantly, like he had asked a question. Summer smiled sheepishly. "Um...what?"

Shade stared at her quizically with his hazel eyes.
"You seemed to have something on your mind."

"Yeah, I'm..." She trailed off, looking away. "It's nothing," she sighed and glanced up at Shade and Caroline again. "So, let's go back to camp?" She suggested.

Shade didn't believe her, of course. It would be hard for anyone on opposing sides that were friends. He remembered what it was like against Terry.
"That's a good idea."
He sighed and got up, turning to Caroline.
"Let's go. We'll get those stupid vines on the way."

"Hehe, the vines were just an excuse to get out of the camp. I just...I couldn't take it in there anymore...I just needed some time to think. And the Demeter kids can easily make the vines...but sure, let's do that," she added hastily.

Katie walked into the clearing where Caroline and Shade were, looking worried. "I thought I heard something. Are you guys alright?"

Shade nearly jumped at Katie's voice. How many people jumped at a child of the goddess of love? But he was feeling a bit twitchy, he guessed.
"Yeah, we're fine. Why you ask?"

Caroline hesitated at Shade's question. Should she tell him? She liked to keep most most her thoughts to herself... But wasn't trust the most important part in a relationship? She decided on yes. "I was thinking..." Katie's voice rang through the air as she walked up to them. Great timing. Caroline turned towards Katie as Shade said, "Yeah, we're fine. Why do you ask?" Caroline just nodded in agreement.

Shade let out a nervous laugh.
"We can talk, right? And fighting? I'm pretty sure you heard wrong."
He had no reason to lie, but for somereason, he felt uncomfotable about all this. He didn't want to make a fuss.

Caroline sent Shade a quick confused look. Why was he lying to Katie? But she just played along, unsure what else to do. "We were just talking about the battle."

Shade just nodded in agreement to Caroline's words. He gazed calmly at Katie with his hazel eyes. He hoped she would take it. After all, the camp didn't need to know and cause a big scene over two Gaea people appearing. It wasn't a big deal.

Shade almost sighed in relief. It just had really bothered him, whatever had just happened. He wiped away the blood from the tiny cut on his cheek. Then he looked back at them to follow.

Caroline nodded quickly, grateful that Katie didn't ask anymore. She could tell that Katie didn't completely believe them. But she wasn't going to disagree.
