I turned around and raced back towards the cabins. I had just gotten an Iris Message from Colton and Terry. They were alive and at the wolf house, whatever that was. If we could send out a rescue mission.... I raced back closer to the cabins. "THEY'RE ALIVE!" I screamed. I saw the confused looks on the campers faces and explained further. "I just got an Iris-Message from Colton and Terry. They said they were at the wolf house.They're alive. They sounded kind of weak, but they're alive."

Caroline darted outside at Rachel's scream, eyes wide. From the way Rachel had been yelling, she would have thought that someone had come back from the dead, if she hadn't known better. Caroline skidded to a stop in front of the daughter of Athena just as Rachel started explaining. Caroline pushed her way to the front of the crowd.
"Terry and Colton...they're alive?" Caroline repeated Rachel in astonishment. When Caroline had heard about what had happened, she had been sure that they would be done for. But they were only being held prisoner by Gaea. Caroline wasn't sure if that was better than death.
"We need to send a rescue team, we have to!" Caroline immediately demanded, glaring around the clearing for anyone who might disagree. Shade would be so thrilled...

I nodded in agreement. "Definitely. But they probably aren't feeding them, or giving them water, so we better hurry, before they...." I trailed off. Everybody probably already knew what I was going to say anyway.

Shade sat inside his cabin, staring quietly at the wall. He was gone... Terry was gone... He wouldnt see his smile, hear his plans, or recieve nerdy lectures...
Shade's muddled consciousness was broken by Rachel's screaming. They were alive. The words didn't make any sense to him. But something was off. How were they able to send iris messages? It was a trap maybe. Like Dodge had been. Dodge...
Shade stood up and went outside. His hazel eyes were dull and empty.
"Give it up, guys, they're probably fakes."
His voice was lifeless. If this new hope was really fake, it would probably break him right then and there. He didn't want to know if the iris message was authentic or not. But a seventy percent chance that it was fake.
"What are the chances that they can send an iris message in the first place? You've seen it before, Caroline. You know it's heavily guarded. Who would take their eyes off of them for one second? It's probably a trap."

I stared at him. "There's the slightest chance they're alive, and you're just gonna throw it away? I don't think so! You and Terry were almost brothers. He could be dying right now, but waiting for us to come rescue him, and you're just gonna betray him, let him die?" I looked him straight in the eye. "What kind of friend would let their best friend, who was close enough to him to be his brother, just die?"

Shade sat down. Every word from Rachel hurt. He just rocked back and forth on the grass. His eyes were almost like the dead's.
"Like Dodge. It might be fake like Dodge was. I don't know if I can take it if they are fake..."
Gaea knew how to break him. And just like that, she almost had already. If he went to save them, and they were fakes, his hopes would have gone up, then crashed down like glass. He wouldn't be able to stand again after that. That was the case, wasn't it? What if they were fakes? But what if they weren't? His mind was muddled. Suddenly, his eyes flickered to black. Shade blinked, pressing his palm to his eyes. Then they changed back when he opened them again.
Just don't think about it...

Caroline's heart sank at Shade's words. She hadn't expected this reaction from him. Well, we still have to try! What if they aren't fakes? She was about to speak, but Rachel was faster.
Caroline blinked as Shade's eyes turned black. It was scary when that happened. "Well, Dodge was different. You hadn't heard from him in a while and he turned out to be a fake, but Terry and Colton were only recently captured. There's a greater possibility that they're still alive." Caroline sat down next to him, unsure what else to say to make him feel better.
"And if they aren't fakes, wouldn't you feel worse knowing that you could have done something to save them? If you don't want to, you don't have to go."

Shade repeated her words like they were a spell. He looked at Caroline. His hazel eyes were confused and almost...afraid.
"No, no, I'll go. I will...go..."

"Are you sure?" Caroline's voice was soft.
"If they are fakes, then you..." she trailed off, not wanting to continue. "Really, it's fine if you don't want to go. You can trust the camp to bring them back safely." Of course, Caroline didn't mention the fact that someone who went could turn out to be a spy.

Caroline nodded, still not entirely convinced, but stood up and looked around. "And I'm going too." Then, louder, "Who wants to go on a rescue mission to the Wolf House?" Maybe that was bold.

Shade looked up in alarm. He studied Caroline, realizing how glad he was to have her by his side. But announcing it like that had probably attracted the spies to join. Like Colton...that person. He was the reason Terry was captured. For some reason, he couldn't bring himself to pity the boy.

Willow heard someone announce. Save? Someone? Person? Wolf house? She slowly slinked out of bed(Willow takes her some naps!), whispering Draco's name, and when she got outside of the cabin, he was there. Willow saw Caroline, Shade, and Rachel outside. They looked determined.
"Well I hope this isn't a prank. Was going on?" Draco laid down next down next to where she was standing and partly closed his eyes.

Willing to try... Shade looked at the grass blankly. Were they fakes or not? If they weren't, it could still be a trap. He was trying to avoid everyone's eyes. That way they wouldn't see that he was afraid. Arrack that they might just be fakes.

"Well, for now, we're grateful for all the people we get," Caroline said, smiling warmly at Rachel. "But it's your choice. Do you really want to go? We...well, someone might not make it back." The smile dropped from her face.

I turned my head back towards Caroline. "Sure. I would actually like to go. I'd feel like I'm helping more. Besides, you just might need some smarts that us Athena kids have to get in. Gods, I sound so self-centered saying that."

Willow's head jolted up at the thought of Colton and Terry being alive. She saw them as they fell to their deaths. But maybe...
"Can I join in on this little quest?" Willow needed something to do. If her offer was rejected, Willow had some...other plans.

Four people. Shade was skeptical. All of them were powerful and skilled. They could hold off a lot of them. He remembered what had happened to Ace. A raid wasn't something Gaea would overlook. Even if it was with four people.
"How are we going to get in?"
The boy asked from his seat on the grass.
