I strolled in with a unconscious Terry on my back. Gaia was there, waiting for us. I tilted my shoulders slightly, and Terry slid to the floor. I bowed in front of Gaia. "My lady."

Terry was beginning to wake up after a while. How long had it been? Where was he? He stirred and opened his eyes. He remembered everything once he saw Summer. He could still make a break for it. Just as he was about to back up, a wall of Earth shot up behind and beside him. The front of the cell looking structure were of course, bars. Perfect. Just perfect. He glared at all of the people gathered, not saying a word.

I smirked at him through his bars.
Gaia said, "We won't hurt you, Terry. Not if you join us. You'll get to see Shade again, and fight alongside him. I can give you anything within reason."

Gaea had called all her soldiers for a meeting. What was it for? There was no reason. If it was for a new member, this was a waste of time. Usually they didn't have to gather for....Shade spotted Summer with someone on her shoulder he recognized his hair. As she arrived in front of them and dumped the unconscious figure on the floor, he jolted in surprise. Terry. Why was he? What was he doing here?

Izumi caught a hold of Shade's sleeve. "Nii-San? You know him?" Why would Gaea capture a person? Didn't she only recruit people? Not force them to join? Why go through all that trouble.

Shade blinked in shock. He didn't want to go up. But Gaea was watching him.
"He was my best friend back at camp..."
Shade answered Izumi quietly. Then he slowly stepped forward, walking to the front too see Terry. The walls behind and beside him dropped to bars so Terry could be seen in front of everyone. Shade didn't know what to say or think. What was he doing here? Why did they bring him here? His friend looked tired and worn.

Gaia went up to stand next to Shade, facing Terry's cage. "Join us-" Gaia gestured to the demigods behind her. "-and you could train with Shade again."

Terry gritted his teeth, looking Shade in the eyes once. What was his friend's thinking? Why was he staying here when she caused him all this pain. Terry refused to answer, averting his eyes from the goddess and Shade.

Terry turned with a glare at Summer he would speak when he wanted to. He wasn't going to answer to the Titan. The Earth shook under his feet. The cage rocked and he was sent tumbling onto the grass on his back painfully. He coughed and got up, still refusing to make eye contact or talk to her.

Jade winced as Gaea made him fall onto the ground with a thud. She watched silently with some admiration as he got up, still refusing to talk at all. So this was Shade's best friend back at camp. He was rather tall. He had black hair, gray eyes, and glasses. He looked tired and beat up.

I drew my knife, but Gaia held up a hand. "No, Summer." I gritted my teeth, but obeyed.
Gaia's voice was cold as she spoke to Terry. "This is your last chance. Join me, or be killed."

Shade looked at Terry with pleading eyes. Just join. Don't give up a life just for stubbornness... He tried to catch his gaze, but he was avoiding eye contact with them. He was thinking. He was going to answer. Shade begged to the god's that he would say yes.

Terry closed his eyes. Die or join. He turned to look Shade in the eyes once. "I'd rather die." He spits at Gaea.
The Earth Titan blinks in surprise and laughs. Tendrils of dirt shoot up fro the ground and wrap around his neck. "Very well."
Terry steps back in surprise, but there's nowhere to run. The ropes of dirt cuts off his air. His fingers scrabble uselessly to free them as he tries to gasp for air.

Izumi steps forward in shock at Terry's decision. Then she hesitates. She can't show herself...So she watches from the ground as Terry gasps painfully. Izumi looks away. She wants it to stop. How could Shade just watch if his best friend was dying now?

Shade looked up to meet Terry's eyes. His words didn't make any sense. Did he just refuse her? He refused Gaea even though he knew he was going to die? Was joining really that bad? He was here. His mind filled with confusion. The image before him was like broken glass as earth wrapped around Terry's neck. His friend couldn't breathe. He really was going to die...! The thought hit him. Shade turned pale and his fists tightened. What was he going to do? What was he going to do?

I winced as the earth started to choke him. It was a horrible way to die. "Um, my lady," I started. "Why not have Shade kill him?"
Gaia considered the option for a moment, then said, "Yes. Shade, kill Terry. It will prove your loyalty to me as well as getting rid of this demigod."

Shade looked up in shock. He glared at Summer. How could she? Shade watched as the ground released Terry. He felt a sigh of relief travel up his throat, but he didn't release it. How was he supposed to kill him?
