He could barely remember what the clearing of the Greek camp looked like. He had only seen it once. The only reason he remembered it was because it was the place of the battle between Gaea and the camps. The place where he had betrayed his friends and nearly killed Terry.
Shade, Izumi, and Terry materialized out of the shadow of a tree at the edge of the clearing. Shade started yelling as they came out.
"Someone help us! We need medical aid! Hang in there Izumi...!"
He looked down at Jade who was in his arms. The eleven year old's eyes were half closed from pain and exhaustion. A gaping wound in her side from when Krissie had stabbed her right through. There was no time for explanations. They needed help.

Jade was breathing hard. Every intake of air made her side burn even more. She felt like she was about to go unconscious because of the pain, but at the same time, the pain was intense to the point where it was keeping her very much awake. She could slowly see the hazy world getting more and more blurry. She looked up at Shade who was crying over this.
"Stop crying, Nii-San. I'm going to be fine." But she knew she wasn't going to be.

Terry pulled back Shade's arm. "Let me see." He winced at the sight. There was too much blood to even see the wound properly. And she was still bleeding steadily. Shade's shirt was already stained from carrying her. "Don't talk, Jade. You must save your energy." He looked up for someone to come help. "We need medics! Help!"

Ethan was walking by when he noticed Jade. "Jade!" He exclaimed. He ran over to her, seeing the wound. He didn't care what happened at the moment, he just wanted to get Jade some help. "Hey, we need an Apollo kid over here!" He shouted. He looked at Terry and Shade. "Do either of you have something to at least stop the bleeding?"

Terry shook his head. Before Gaea's people had kidnapped him, he had been just taking a walk. He didn't have anything on him at all. He looked at Shade who also shook his head helplessly.

I burst out of my cabin at the commotion, slightly annoyed. "What-" My voice caught in my throat. "Shade!!"
Tears slid down my face. "Oh my gods, you're..." I trailed off as I saw Jade. "What the hell happened? Wait, explain later."
I rushed over and took Jade's hand.

Ethan quickly looked for something on him that he could use. He took off his shirt and tied it snuggly to Jade's side. "That will have to do for now."

Shade can't stop his tears. He sets her down in the grass, looking at his "sister's" ashen face. Now there were more tears at the sight of Caroline. He wiped his eyes. He felt like a little kid.

Jade didn't know everyone that was looking down at her, but she considered them all her friends. She was satisfied with her progress. She was shy, and she was surprised she was able to meet this many people. She looked at Shade who was crying. Her soft and shy voice came out as a weak whisper.
"Nii-San, you're so stupid. I thought I told you to stop crying." She smiles at them all. She looks at Ethan. "Thanks for this...even though you just met me last week. Forgive your mother for not being there when you wanted her to be there. But thank your friend's for being by your side."

Terry wanted to tell her to not speak. Tell her that she had to conserve her energy until help came. That she would live. But the pool of blood was slowing. And there was one reason for that. She had lost too much blood. Terry turned away, closing his eyes. But her voice made him turn back.

"Terry, Nii-San told me you are his best friend. Caroline, you're his girlfriend. So you guys can watch out for Nii-San, right? He's an idiot that doesn't use his head. He always puts himself in the way of sacrifice. And he feels guilty and has changes of heart easily. So keep him on the right track for me, okay?" Izumi sighs out the long sentence. Her smile wide as she teases him. She looks at Shade. "Nii-San?"

Shade looked down at Izumi, wiping away his tears. She told him not to cry. So he wasn't going to. He kept his tears from falling by rubbing his eyes. He can barely contain it as he looks at her. "Yeah?"

Izumi smiles. "Thanks for not crying, pansy. You better stay in line or I'll come back and strangle you."
Izumi closes her eyes for the last time. Her feelings are numb. The pain is gone. Ah, she didn't want to die. She had just made some friends...Oh well. It was a pretty decent life. She would just deal with it. Try for rebirth in the Underworld was always an option. She felt herself fall. A feeling like flying through the air with no control. Then free fall. And everything was black. But there was a light at the end of the blackness. She knew that there always would be.

Shade smiled, "I won't. You don't have to worry about me like a mother. You're my younger sister after all."
Then it was over. She closed her eyes and he knew she wasn't going to sleep. She wasn't going to open her eyes and get back up again. Shade stood up, walking over to a tree. His anger boils, remembering Krissie's calm eyes as she stabs Izumi through. If he had just gotten out of the way...
"Damn it...!" He slams his fist into a tree. It's strong enough of an impact for leaves to shake to the floor. His knuckles are bloody but he doesn't feel it. It's just numb. Like his feelings. "Damn it! Damn it!"
