"I have two. I'm a double sword fighter." He was glad that she was happier now. That was close in his point of view. He didn't want to ruin the mood here.

Caroline: I pointed up at the dark night sky. "One of those stars is my mom. I don't know how, but I can feel it.''

Shade looked up with a smile. "Well, she should be happy watching you now." Hopefully, if she approved of Shade. "I'm not sure if I have anyone up there...But it's a posibility." But the dead didn't go up to the stars. They went to the Underworld. Where his father was. But they could reincarnate as stars too. Not many did.

I nodded and sighed, then hesitated before asking, "Have you ever been to the Underworld before?"

That was a touchy subject for him. He remembered the letter Dodge gave him. He had believed it. Every word. He looked down at the grass. "....Yeah. I lived there."

Caroline: "What was it like, being in the Underworld?" I asked.

Hit a nerve. He flinched at the question. "I...don't know. I don't remember." He had just learned he had lived in the Underworld till the age of eleven. His father had wiped his memory and sent him to live with his mentor, Dodge. Then he replaced his memory to make him think he had lived with Dodge normally his whole life. He didn't remember anything....wait.
Why didn't h try to remember? He thought back, the Underworld what did it look li- An explosion of red hot pain burst inside his skull. He grabbed his head and curled in pain, dropping the cookie he had just started nibbling on. ".......!!" Shard of images flashed behind his eyes like a slide show fast forwarded. He couldn't see any clearly. His head throbbed.

"Oh my gods!" I rushed to him. "Wh-what's happening?"

"Ow....." The pain was like needles being stuck into his skull. A splitting headache that he couldn't stop.
Ghosts, Cerberus, The Styx, The Lithe, Thanatos, A ferry, Charon......He could put some names to them. But not all of them. He saw the throne....to....Pluto. But what did his father look like? He tried to remember at least his face...
This is not for you to know! A voice roared through his mind, cutting off his thought and bringing back a torrent of images.
Caroline's voice cut off the chaos and pain. The images flashed and were gone. He opened his eyes. He dropped his hands down to his sides. Wha..? He looked up to see Caroline's worried eyes. "Um...sorry...I just...It's nothing, don't worry about it." Shade blinked. What was that?

"No, you're not! You were hurt. Somehow. You were like 'ow'. Does that sound okay to you?!" I was freaking out now.

"It was nothing. I'm fine."
Shade didn't need her worrying about her. This was his problem. He put his head to his palm, glaring at the grass.
This is not for you to know!
Who said that? His father? What was not for him to know? He was trying to remember him and his past. What was so wrong with that? Did he not even have the right to know of his own history? His life? Shade closed his eyes. Confusion overrode his anger in the end. This wasn't the time for this. He would think about it later. He looked up a Caroline.
"Um, just a minor headache. It passed, that's all."

Caroline:
I nodded, but didn't look very convinced.
It would be weird to live in the Underworld. With all the dead things. It might've been normal for him since he was a son of Pluto, but still.

Shade fingered a blade of grass.
"I can barely remember. It's pretty light there for the Underworld. There are lights and all. I remember Cerby. The Furies. And...I remember the garden my step mother Persephone grows. And the throne room. Ghosts. But I can't remember anything that happened. Just some things. People. Places."
He couldn't remember anything that took place when he lived there. It was so odd. He wasn't going to try and remember anyway. He had given up on that. Something was blocking him from remembering.

Caroline:
(Mwahaha sneaking on my iPod while lying in bed. Have I mentioned how hard it is and how slow it is to type!? This thing drives me crazy...)
I listened carefully. "Cool." I finally said. "Was it hard, seeing all of those people...dead?"
I saw a flash of light out of the corner of my eye. I turned and gasped. "A shooting star! Make a wish." I closed my eyes and thought, then opened my eyes again.

(You told me in the pm. I know, my sister uses an iTouch. So I know. I'm glad I share an iPad with Terry. I'm also sneaking on.)
"It isn't if you don't know them..." He couldn't even remember the emotions matched to the images. All he remembered were the images.
Shade looked up at Caroline's comment. It streaked brightly across the sky. He did as he was told. Then he made a wish and closed his eyes.

(Lucky!)
I turned to smile at Shade. "Don't tell anyone or it won't come true." I warned. "But mine already has."

"Really? Mine too. I won't tell you, but I hope we wished the same thing." He smiled and looked into her green eyes. He would tell her everthing about him in due time if she asked. But now wasn't the time. He would have to learn about his past on his own.

"I have a feeling we did." I smiled up at him.

(I'm stuck in the house.)
Shade nodded. He went into the picnic basket and dug around. He grabbed a cookie and chewed on it. "Funny, I have a sweet tooth today. I never liked sweet stuff."
