I nodded, gazing at the water. It was so peaceful...the moonlight shone on the surface. If the world could be like the lake, it would be so much better.

Shade stood up and held out a hand to help her up with a smile.

After helping her up, Shade grabbed the picnic basket and trotted to the Posieden cabin with Caroline.
"Almost there."
He looked down at the basket.
"Um, you wanna keep it?"

He lied with a smooth smile. He had been dreaming about Gaea and his father and Dodge. She had promised him what he most wanted. He would spend a day thinking about it. But Caroline was a large factor.
"Go to sleep now."
He hugs her then walks back to his cabin.

I smiled after him, then shut the door to my cabin behind me.
I couldn't sleep. I kept looking out the window at his cabin. When would later be?

Shade went up to his cabin and flopped onto the bed. He sighed. He looked at the ceiling, unable to sleep. But he somehow did. And the nightmares were terrifying.

Finally, I closed my lights and tried to go to sleep. And I actually did. I had no dreams, just regular sleep.
