Ace was thrown into a cage by the back wall of the Wolf House. It was very tall and wide. He could stand and move around in it. Being the only prisoner, he had the cage to himself. He felt so special.
The cage itself was made of earth. It mocked his inability to use his powers. That stupid poison. The pain had faded after a while. He didn't feel anything anymore. But the hour was ticking away until another injection. He just slumped in the corner. He sat and looked out of the bars and at the sky. What was going to happen to him?

I made sure no one else was looking, then went up to Ace's cage. "Hey," I said. I didn't know why I was talking to him. I sighed as I sat down next to his cage. "I'm really sorry for having to do this to you later..." The needle.

Ace looked at Summer. His light green eyes were wary. He didn't feel like saying anything to her. But he did anyway. "We both know you have to follow orders. So you're not very sorry as long as you get to save your own skin and be obedient." Okay, the words were out of his mouth before he could stop them. They were harsh. Maybe Summer would actually feel better about sticking that poison into him now.

I flinched, and my eyes hardened. But I sighed, and I glanced at Ace sadly. I looked around to make sure no one was within ear-shot, then murmured softly, "I want to go back to the camps. I don't want to be Gaea's slave anymore."

Ace looked up suddenly at Summer. His green eyes were surprised. But...what would that do? "Why are you telling me?"

I paused. "I really don't know. I guess it's because I know you won't tell anyone else." My eyes hardened and I glared at him expectantly.

"What good would it do if I told anyone? Summer Anderson, daughter of Zeus." Ace had the intel on every Gaea soldier. He was the analyst for his mother. That's why she didn't want him near the camps. He had too much information. He looked warily at her as the timer near his cage let out a beep. "Isn't it about time for that?" He looked at the needle like it was going to grow fangs.

I flinched when he said Zeus's name. "Yeah." Just then, the timer beeped. I sighed. I glanced at the needle warily, then back at Ace. "Yeah. But Gaea said to have another camper with me..." I glanced at the needle, debating on whether to use it or disobey Gaea.

"Just hurry up with it." Ace turned away. His sharp green eyes stared dully at the bars. "I bet my mother will check on me later. You'd better hurry and get someone else. If I ever get the chance to have my powers back, I'll be running."

I sighed, then looked at the needle again. Then back at Ace. "I'm really sorry about this..." I got up and ran to get someone else.

Ace closed his light green eyes. Her footsteps faded. Ace didn't bother with her apology. He didn't want it. He couldn't really hate her for it. They were orders from his mother. Why couldn't she have come up with something less painful? Some mother.

A few moments later Summe reappeared with Krissie a few steps behind. "You didn't have to throw a rock at me! I was coming!" she snapped. The rock didn't hit her, but, you know, she still threw it.

I smiled slightly at her reply. "I know. I just felt like doing it."
My expression turned serious again as I faced Ace.

Ace didn't bother to look at either of them. He sighed. "Just get it over with." As if Gaea had been warned by the alarm, the cage sunk into the ground momentarily.

Wow he felt so special. They were debating on who should give him a poison. He watched the cage sink into the ground. Maybe he could make a run for it. He definitely wouldn't get far. He didn't have powers or his weapon. Speaking of which, how much longer was the card going to take to regenerate? He reached into his pocket. At least the card had reconnected itself. But there was a long tear in it.

Krissie snorted. "Does it really matter?" she asked skeptically, looking down at Ace. "You just do it. I'm here so he doesn't escape, which I really doubt he would do."

Ace just glared at Krissie. The daughter of Poseidon was one of Gaea's most trusted soldiers, that he knew. If he would make a run for it, he wasn't going anywhere. He looked at Summer, his bright green eyes sharp and defiant.

Krissie checked her nails in boredom, but still kept a part of her attention on Ace. She doubted he would try to run away or anything, but it helped to make sure. "I'm not getting any younger here."
